After Sega and Sammy decided not to merge, it appears Namco has also had a change of heart over the whole affair.
Namco withdrew its offer for a merger this morning, after Sega and Sammy broke off merger talks.
"Sega told us on Thursday that it was not in a situation to give a specific answer to the proposal. And we decided that it is not the right time to proceed with the merger discussions," a Namco press release stated.
Sega is apparently now searching for more buisness opportunities.

Oh man... please don't tell me that the Microsoft rumors are true... it would suck so badly if they bought out Sega.
The second screen looks pre-rendered (if it's not then I'll be extremely impressed) and the screen grabs are really crappy, but overall the game looks good! At least we can look forward to one Genesis revival that doesn't look like an N64 game (Vectorman).

Gamers.com is reporting that preliminary release lists for Nintendo of America hint at several previously unannounced titles. The biggest possible game on the list is the mysterious Metroid: Zero Mission for the Game Boy Advance. Another familiar title on the list, Sword of Fire, comes straight from Nintendo's newest Fire Emblem title. Called Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (translated Sword of Fire; what a coincedence) in Japan, the game is a part of a strategy/RPG series that has never before made it to North America.
Hopefully, we'll be able to let you know more about this as E3 commences on May 14.

E3 hasn't even started and I've already died and gone to heaven! I just knew that IS was going to release another Metroid title for the GBA eventually, but it's great to hear some real news on it! And Fire Emblem!! It's about fucking time, Nintendo!!
I just got the demo in PC Gamer yesterday and from what I have played this game rocks! It's chocked full of various high powered weapons that you can use to rip through hoardes of alien scum!
The graphics are pretty good. They weren't really jaw dropping, like Half-Life 2, but I'd say they are better than most FPSs out right now.
I noticed that the enemies are actually kind of smart. When you try to shoot them they'll run for cover.
Quote:The first images of the upcoming turtle game have hit the web. The game is apparently going to be cell-shaded!
Our Japanese collegues over at Quitter today unveiled the first images of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the next-gen consoles. The site scanned them from an American magazine. No further information was given with the screens.
The screens do unveil that the game will be a cel-shaded game. Quite a good choice as it makes the game look closest to the original cartoon.
Cube-Europe will bring you more on this title as it breaks!
Quote:After a mass of speculation over the weekend and possible hints as to whether or not Metal Gear Solid 3 would be at the 2003 Electronic Entertainment Expo, a Konami of America representative confirmed for IGN today that the game would indeed be there. As to what form the unveiling will take (be it movie, screenshots, dancing bears, or what have you), Konami still has yet confirm.
