CNN Headline News just did a preview of E3, and specifically Nintendo's games. They showed F-Zero, which was nothing new, but then they showed Mario Kart: Double Dash! There was probably about 30 seconds of footage and it looked so nice! They only showed the Mario Raceway-like level, but it was awesome! At the start when the racers didn't have weapons, Luigi was riding behind Mario and punching at the other karts! I can't wait to see more!
Quote:Following up on our earlier article, Microsoft has released new information on their revised Xbox Live pricing.
The more flexible pricing plan includes a planned free trial period, and a more expensive basic starter kit. Subscribers will have the option of a $5.99 monthly fee in North America as of this fall. A one-year renewal or new subscription will be $49.99, while the Starter Kit, which includes the voice headset and some bundled items, will sell for $69.99, a $20 increase from the current $49.99 price.
The headset will also available as a stand-alone item, for $29.99.

Oh to hell with that. I'll just stick to my PC for online games. And I assume that the $70 includes the one-year subscribtion, although they make it seem like it's seperate in that article.
Quote:Two Nintendo game details..."Fear" and "Ground Zero"
GamePro has apparently heard some information on two new GameCube games from Nintendo, currently code named "Fear" and "Ground Zero".
While there is little information on "Ground Zero" at this point, what is known is that it is a joint development between Nintendo and an as yet unamed developer. All sources will say is that "Ground Zero" will "be bigger than anything you have seen so far on GameCube."
"Fear" is said to be led by famed developer Shigeru Miyamoto himself, and will focus on a young boy having to overcome his fears throughout the game. Each level is themed around one of the boy's fears. For example, one possible level has the boy overcome his fear of heights by climbing a mountain.
If there is any new news on these titles at E3, we'll be sure to bring them to you.

Wow, that Fear game sounds awesome. Perhaps that's the secret original game Miyamoto was talking about?
After Sega and Sammy decided not to merge, it appears Namco has also had a change of heart over the whole affair.
Namco withdrew its offer for a merger this morning, after Sega and Sammy broke off merger talks.
"Sega told us on Thursday that it was not in a situation to give a specific answer to the proposal. And we decided that it is not the right time to proceed with the merger discussions," a Namco press release stated.
Sega is apparently now searching for more buisness opportunities.

Oh man... please don't tell me that the Microsoft rumors are true... it would suck so badly if they bought out Sega.
The second screen looks pre-rendered (if it's not then I'll be extremely impressed) and the screen grabs are really crappy, but overall the game looks good! At least we can look forward to one Genesis revival that doesn't look like an N64 game (Vectorman).
