      What a boring Super Bowl
    Posted by: EdenMaster - 6th February 2005, 10:27 PM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (150)

I thought last years was bad (even though it did turn around in the second half), but this was just terrible. There were a few good plays, but they were offset by all the fumbles, interceptions, sacks, and incomplete passes.

I hope next years is better. Your thoughts?

Most obvious news item of the month: RE4 may be difficult to port to PS2
    Posted by: Great Rumbler - 6th February 2005, 6:02 PM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (35)

Quote:According to the latest issue of CG World, a Japanese magazine, Capcom stated that it is difficult to port Resident Evil 4, to the Playstation hardware. They went to say, that the biggest issue is the memory size. Moreover they have problems with the polygon count. Leon’s model in the GameCube version features about 10,000 polygons, while the PS2 can only render 5,000. Capcom also added, that the model of Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater features 5,000 polygons. They only good thing about PS2, is that it can use of more textures at a time, but Capcom also said that there must be a balance between the number of textures and their quality.

Those crazy PS2-ers don't need it anyway. Go play GTA 10, you posers.

The US AC site is broken, and the European site is better.
    Posted by: Dark Jaguar - 6th February 2005, 12:37 AM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (3)

    http://www.nintendo-europe.com/microsite...sing/enGB/

That's the link to the European official AC web site. I have found two things. First off, one of the game code makers at the US AC site is currently broken or something. Second off, the European site is giving away a 5th game, possibly more, which the US site has yet to add. Namely, it's giving away Punchout! So anyway, I nabbed that code a while ago and just got the letter with it, and now I can play that game in all it's glory. Oh, and as you can imagine, for obvious reasons, it is the Mr. Dream remake, not the Mike Tyson US original (or the Japanese original original, which didn't have either).

Ya know, I think I'll be checking out the European Nintendo site more often. They may have more content giveaways I'll want to get in on.

Fittisize buys domain and webspace; knows nothing about making websites
    Posted by: Fittisize - 4th February 2005, 6:09 PM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (8)

Yup the title sums it up. I recently bought davefittes.com and have realized that I don't know how to make a website look good, and most importantly, I have no idea about what I'm going to put on it. I was thinking something similar to thensaiswatchin.com or eBaum's world, but I'm still shot for content. Oh well, here's what it might look like, comments on the design and suggestions for content would be appreciated.

    9.4 from ign.

I told ya guys this series was good. And I'll bet you each a hundred bucks that the sales are at least double from last year all because of Mario and co. Nintendo is right: you guys won't give a game a moment's glance unless it's either exclusive or has a Nintendo character in it.

      U.S. PSP launch details, pricing
    Posted by: OB1 - 3rd February 2005, 11:46 AM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (22)

    From ign:

Quote:February 3, 2005 - Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced the North American launch date and pricing structure for its anticipated PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld. The device, which launched in Japan last year, is set to debut in the US and Canada on March 24 for suggested retail prices of $249 USD and $299.99 CND respectively.

Unlike the Japanese launch, which offered a base PSP package for approximately $185 USD, North American buyers will only be able to get one bundle, the pricier PSP Value Pack. The good news is that the Pack comes standard with a good number of extras that help make the purchase worthwhile, including a 32MB Memory Stick Duo, headphones with remote control, battery pack, AC adaptor, soft case, and cleaning cloth. In addition, the bundle boasts a movie/music/game sampler UMD disc with non-interactive demos. On top of everything else, the first one million people to purchase a PSP in the US will receive a bonus UMD featuring the full feature film Spider-Man 2.

"PSP will evolve and elevate portable entertainment, giving users the freedom to play full 3D games, watch movies, listen to music and connect wirelessly on their terms, their time and their place," said Kaz Hirai, president and chief executive officer, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "More than ever, today's consumer demands access to entertainment outside the home without compromising quality. With more than 100 PSP game titles currently in development worldwide, and the ability to download and listen to digital music and view feature films with breathtaking screen quality, PSP lets users control their entertainment options, all in one package."

Sony also announced the preliminary list of launch titles, to be released simultaneously with the handheld:

<DIR><DIR>Ape Escape: On the Loose, Sony Computer Entertainment America

ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, Sony Computer Entertainment America

Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade, Sony Online Entertainment

Wipeout Pure, Sony Computer Entertainment America

World Tour Soccer, Sony Computer Entertainment America

</DIR></DIR>Sony said it would manufacture one million PSP units for sale in the North American market by the end of its fiscal year on March 31.
Ok before you guys go "OMG it's $250 What teh Ripoffss!!!!!111111", look at the details. It's because it's comes with a 32MB memory card (that's what, four times the size of the largest official GC memory card which costs $30?), headphones w/remote (those kinds of headphones are usually 'spensive), a battery pack (probably not a spare one though), AC adapter, a "soft case", a cleaning cloth (wee...), and the first million units with come with a spider-man 2 umd of the entire flick. Not too shabby. The memory card, headphones, and case themselves should more than warrant the extra $50. They should have also offered a barebones PSP, but whatever. I was going to buy most of that crap anyway.

And look at that launch lineup! I can already see three great games that I'm going to want at launch. MG Acid, Lumines, and Wipeout. I hate to say it, but that's a far more impressive lineup than the DS'. Though if the games cost more than $40 I'm probably only going to be able to afford two of them.

I started playing the game again, now all of you have to... by royal decree...
    Posted by: Dark Jaguar - 3rd February 2005, 2:35 AM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (29)

I dunno... anyway, I'm playing it again. First thing I did was wage war against the roach army that had taken up residence in my house when I was away. I was there first so their claim to the land is illegitimate! Who cares if I left for like over a year?

Anyway, my second duty involed talking to all the townspeople... They were not amused by my disappearence...

My third duty was to start picking the weeds... The roaches were nothing compaired to this threat. They were too much, so I stopped. As it stands, I never did finish paying off my latest house expansion, so I'm doing that now. Good thing I planted all those fruit trees, the ones with foreign fruit, all that time ago. Nice cash flow.

Anyway, I just stopped playing after finding a ghost wandering around. It wanted me to catch spirits. I did so, and it said it would grant me one of three favors. Well, I picked the most evil one I could, I asked it to pick all the weeds in town. The poor thing scanned the place and was rather dismayed that I could let it get that bad. The ghost said it would take all frickin' night to do it, but a promise was a promise, so it got to work. That's when I saved and quit. Well, tomorrow I get a fresh town that's weed free to start my fun up again, thanks to the tireless work of a being that honestly probably figured it wouldn't have to do such backbreaking work when noncoporeal.

Anyway, I decided to hijack this forum back to whence it originally came. So, let the trading commence, or something...

I'm still looking to complete my arcade/general game room look for my house.

    Enterprise has been cancelled.

Quote:After months if not years of speculation, UPN has announced today that the fifth STAR TREK television series will not continue beyond this season. Here's the complete release from UPN. Stay with TrekWeb for continuing coverage of this news. At TrekWeb we'd like to thank all the people who have brought STAR TREK and ENTERPRISE to us over the years and express our sadness that this chapter in the STAR TREK franchise is coming to a close. May you all, and STAR TREK, live long and prosper.

"STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE" TO END ITS CURRENT VOYAGE ON UPN IN MAY

UPN and Paramount Network Television have jointly announced that this will be the final season of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE on UPN. The series finale will air on Friday, May 13, 2005.

"Star Trek has been an important part of UPN's history, and ENTERPRISE has carried on the tradition of its predecessors with great distinction," said Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, UPN. "We'd like to thank Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and an incredibly talented cast for creating an engaging, new dimension to the Star Trek universe on UPN, and we look forward to working with them, and our partners at Paramount Network Television, on a send-off that salutes its contributions to The Network and satisfies its loyal viewers."

David Stapf, President of Paramount Network Television, said, "The creators, stars and crew of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE ambitiously and proudly upheld the fine traditions of the STAR TREK franchise. We are grateful for their contributions to the legacy of TREK and commend them on completing nearly 100 exciting, dramatic and visually stunning episodes. All of us at Paramount warmly bid goodbye to ENTERPRISE, and we all look forward to a new chapter of this enduring franchise in the future."

A prequel to the original "Star Trek" series, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE premiered on UPN on Sept. 26, 2001, and aired for its first three seasons on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT). On Oct. 8, 2004, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE moved into its current time on Fridays (8:00-9:00PM, ET/PT). Through its four-year run, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE produced a total of 98 episodes and earned four Emmy Awards.

In January, Paramount Domestic Television sold the rebroadcasts of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE into off-network syndication in over 90% of the country, including 49 of the 50 top markets, and is set for debut in Fall 2005.

The series stars Scott Bakula as Capt. Jonathan Archer, John Billingsley as Dr. Phlox, Jolene Blalock as the Vulcan Sub Commander T'Pol, Dominic Keating as Lt. Malcolm Reed, Anthony Montgomery as Ensign Travis Mayweather, Linda Park as Ensign Hoshi Sato and Connor Trinneer as Chief Engineer Charles "Trip" Tucker III.

Rick Berman and Brannon Braga are the creators and executive producers of the series. STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE is a Paramount Network Television production.

Fucking fuck fuck fuckers from ft. fuckington! Just when they were starting with the Romulan war! ARGH!!

:cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

Those idiots Brannon and Braga better stay the fuck away from Star Trek from now on. This really, really blows. Who knows when we'll see another Trek series, or movie for that matter.

Guess it's time for me to catch up on DS9.... Mad
