This isn't really news, as everyone's been carrying polls and approval numbers, but here it is anyway, in a precise and truncated format:
"Washington (CNN) - Nearly half of all Americans think President Barack Obama does not deserve re-election in 2012, according to a new national poll.
A Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday indicates that 48 percent of the public thinks Obama doesn't deserve a second term in office, with four in ten saying he does deserve to be re-elected. By a 52 to 34 percent margin, Independent voters say the president doesn't deserve re-election.
Thirty-six percent of people questioned in the poll say they'd vote for Obama if the next presidential election were held today, with 39 percent saying they'd cast their ballot for the Republican candidate. Thirteen percent say their vote depends on which Republican would be facing off against Obama and 12 percent say they are undecided. By a 37 to 27 percent advantage, Independents say they'd vote for the Republican candidate.
"In politics, a month is a lifetime and we have 28 months until November of 2012. But politicians with re-elect numbers at 40 percent bear watching," says Quinnipiac University Polling Institute assistant director Peter Brown."

Now, OBVIOUSLY, this isn't a prez. election year. And OBVIOUSLY, if it were, the Dems would be pouring untold riches into rallying support, and those numbers above would be higher. Yet one must give some credence to the idea that, Obama isn't doing all that great of a job.

Next people will start realizing that the reason they rate cable TV so low is because no one really needs it any more.
$200 for a new 4GB internal flash New Xbox 360, or $300 for a bundle with the 4GB Xbox and the Kinect (and Kinect Adventures). European prices are as always higher.
Kinect is two player standing room only, of course... and quite a bit more expensive than Wii. Does it really have a chance of competing?
I find this really curious. From the video, it seems very clear, from the way she sarcastically rolled her voice "soooo", that she is discriminating. The NAACP even called her out on it, citing it as "shameful." Obviously, now that the shit hit the fan, she's backtracking and casting herself as innocent.
I think she was being discriminatory and she's just trying to save her ass now.
The logical side of me says, there is probably no legal basis for denying the mosque. Possibly, there is no alterior motive to the location. However, the emotional side of me says there should be no mosque near Ground Zero... build it elsewhere in New York, but not there. Perhaps illogically, I see it as the WTC being obliterated, and a Muslim flag propped up in the rubble. 52% of New Yorkers agree.
I'm creating this thread for two reasons: First, I want to talk about the movie that's coming out on August 23rd. Second, I would like to learn more about the graphic novel that the movie is based on.
When I first heard about the Scott Pilgrim movie, I was not aware that it was based off a graphic novel series that was originally released in 04. Now that the movie is just one month away, I would like to start reading series to get acquainted with the characters and plot. Well, I shouldn't include the plot. The trailers alone have given me a firm understanding of Scott's mission to defeat the seven evil ex-boyfriends of his current love interest, Ramona.
Surprisingly enough, the graphic novel series isn't even finished. The sixth and final chapter in the series comes out tomorrow.
The movie stars Micheal Cera (this should not be a surprise), Mary Winstead and Chris Evans.
Overall, the movie looks really good. According to the info that I've read, the movie and novel series have quite a few references to numerous video games series (i.e. Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros., etc.).
