    Here's Joe before his neutering.

We caught him babysitting the next door neighbor's chicken's eggs, because she was on vacation.

Most of you have probably already seen this, but in the interest of making this fresh, empty board appear to be alive and contain worthwhile topics to sift through:

Of interest: Pokemon is far from dead, selling a combined 2.74 million copies. Nintendo's traditionally popular properties did not fare as well. Released in late June, Mario sold big initially followed by an exponential drop in sales. Released on Dec. 13, Zelda has yet to establish legs. If it Zelda doesn't , it might finish its sales cycle below the million mark. This should concern the executives at Nintendo, considering the main Mario/Zelda titles on each system have sold well over 1 million copies (Majora' Mask sold about 650,000 copies, and the Capcom Zelda titles sold approximately 750,000 copies). Party software sells well, as Mario Party 4 looks to break Mario Party 3's sales of 615,507. Looking at the continued momentum of the title through the holidays, it seems to be riding a curve that will put it well beyond 650,000.

Tendo City 2002 Poster's Choice Awards
    Posted by: OB1 - 2nd January 2003, 3:37 PM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (80)

You know the deal. I'll list several video game categories for the year 2002 and you send your choices to my e-mail address: prancetron2000@yahoo.com .

Just copy and paste the categories onto your e-mail and write in your answers next to them. If you have questions about which games fall into which genres, etc., post them, right here. If you want to add more categories, post them in this forum before you vote. I'll post the results once I get enough votes in. The deadline will be, say, January 12th or around there. Voting begins this saturday.

And another thing, I'm not sure if I should add PC categories. What do you guys think?

    The Usual Categories:

Best Action Game (i.e. Splinter Cell)

Best Adventure Game (i.e. Metroid Prime)

    Best RPG

    Best Racing Game

    Best Fighting Game

    Best Action-sports Game

    Best Sports Game

    Best Simulation Game

    Best Soundtrack

    Best Sound Effects

    Best Art Direction

    Best Sequel

    Best Commercial

    Biggest Headline

    Teh funney categories:

Best Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen Game

    Best Army Men Game

Best Stupid Video Game Rep Quote

    Best rumor that never happened

    Best Shiggy pic

    Best Smilie

Edit by DJ: Sorry OB1, but if you are going to rate all games, you can't exclude PC games. I added 3 more catagories, one for PC games.

Oh, and is Metroid Prime in first person? Do you shoot? Then, by sheer logic, it IS a first person shooter. Of course, with that logic then it's also an RPG, since you play a game in a role, but hey I'm just saying is all :D. Yes, I would call Metroid Prime an Adventure. However, unlike Miyamoto, when a game series has like 5 upgrades dedicated to jumping, including a jump move that is an actual attack, and when you do more jumping than fighting in the game, the Metroid series IS a jumping game series! I'm sorry, but it is. Metroid Prime is more shooty than jumpy, but that's fine because MP rocks anway. Okay, enough posting inside someone else's message.

      Portable Gamecube??
    Posted by: OB1 - 2nd January 2003, 3:10 PM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (15)

I don't believe it for a second, but here's the scoop from Nintendojo:

Quote:Portable GameCube In 2003? Yes Please!

Yahoo! News has reported various speculation regarding what may be coming for 2003 as early as May during the E3 in Los Angeles, California.

While some believe that Microsoft may unveil plans for "Xbox Next" and Sony may unveil some information on the long awaited PlayStation 3, Envisioneering analyst Richard Doherty predicts a portable version of Nintendo's next generation console, the GameCube.

"A portable GameCube device would bring next-generation graphics to the portable market -- a market dominated by Nintendo with no competition from Sony or Microsoft," Doherty said.

While none of this has been confirmed, it does show the many possibilities for Nintendo fans in the extremely near future. We'll have more details once they become available. (als)

We were talking about this yesterday... I don't remember exactly what was said, but I said something like how I was surprised how much I liked Skies of Arcadia despite its annoying random combat... but that even so, if it'd used Chrono Trigger's system of showing enemies it would have been even better.
Oh, and could someone explain why they think that Golden Sun has more random battles than FF6?
