    Posted by: Great Rumbler - 24th February 2005, 1:53 PM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (44)

With all the posting that went on in the past few days I decided to check up on just HOW MANY posts were made. I found that on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of this month we had more posts on those days than any other three days since May of last year. So, that little ruckus the other day did breathe a little life back into the place, even it does turn out to be only momentary. By the way, the three day total was almost 700 posts.

    ...

    Now posts some more, everybody!!

Quote:E3 won't be the only major video game event in May. Nintendo has four highly anticipated games launching in May featuring a powerhouse franchise, hot new rhythms, out-of-body experiences and sacred stones.

May 1: Pokemon® Emerald for Game Boy® Advance SP offers a new, more challenging Battle Frontier where players will face a fierce new lineup of competitors that is certain to test the skills of even the best Pokemon Trainers. The game features compatibility with five previous Pokemon titles, and up to four players can battle wirelessly.

May 9: Donkey Konga™ 2 follows last year's Nintendo GameCube™ smash hit with a new selection of modern, bongo-bashing songs. Donkey Konga 2 has dozens more songs in every genre to help you find your groove.

May 23: Geist™ for Nintendo GameCube will help you scare people senseless. Wander as a ghost and possess people, animals and objects in your path to help you unravel the mystery of your condition and get back to your human form.

May 23: Fire Emblem™: The Sacred Stones for Game Boy Advance SP lets you take advantage of your strengths and exploit your enemy's weaknesses. The role-playing game features new character classes and epic battles.

Giest and a new Fire Emblem on the same day? That's crazy talk!

      Moonenites vs Plutonians
    Posted by: Dark Jaguar - 24th February 2005, 1:24 AM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (28)

So, we have two alien races bent on... being complete loosers really... Behold their completely retarded plans for world domination!

From attempting to cash a giant radioactive BILL at a convenience store to sending a retarded clone with a radio sticking out of it to replace "Major Shake", they just don't have it together...

So, who will win in their idiotic competition with each other?!

    Moonenites: *flip off the Plutonians*

Plutonian leader guy: Your fingers seem to be all up in our grill when they would be better placed... CRAMMED UP YOUR BUTTOCKS! Flip them off Emory!

Emory: Um... I'm trying... It's not... it's not working...

Plutonian Leader: Then show them the dark side of the Plutonian moons!

    *plutonians moon the moonenites*

Ir: Hey what... dude they're mooning us!

Ignignot: Impossible! We are the moonenites! Engage countermoonification at once! *turns around, but due to total lack of arses, the mooning doesn't occur... at all*

Ignignot: Please Ir your buttocks are so small it barely registers as a moon.

Ir: Then it's time for a full frontal!

Ignignot: Yes Ir open the door to your sunshine.

Ir: Oh yeah put em on the glass!

DJ: And um... so yeah... how long before they crash their ships into each other in a misguided game of chicken?

The Hardest Riddle Available on the Internet
    Posted by: Great Rumbler - 23rd February 2005, 7:38 PM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (24)

Okay, I've been working on this riddle and it is crazily hard. Basically what it is is you go from one room to another solving riddles in each room. Some involve searching Google for clues to a username and password, others require changing the url. It's crazy. And it's HARD. So far out of 1.8 MILLION people who have attempted the puzzles only 250, 250!!!, have actually finished it. There's over 81 rooms and so far I've only made it to room 6. Wow.

      Star Fox Assault
    Posted by: EdenMaster - 23rd February 2005, 12:52 AM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (40)

    I know there's a thread about it already but...yeah.

I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews that touted this game so poorly. I've played through most of the missions (I have yet to only beat the final mission), and I can say with absolute conviction that this game is even better than Starfox64, and I loved SF64. The Arwing bits are wonderfully executed and the controls are seamless. The Landmaster is a powerful little guy capable of massive destruction on the ground. I will say that the on-foot bits aren't the shining jewel of the game, but they're by no means bad, either. The mix of all three types of play make for a great experience.

I've tried a little multiplayer, and even with splitscreen, everything is easy to see and all the important info in your GUI is right at hand with needing shrunk to fit your half of the screen.

I was anticipating bad voice acting, but I've been pleasantly proven wrong. ROBs voice goes a little over-the-top computery, but everyone else's voices sound great. General Pepper sounds gruff and forceful, Peppy sounds aged yet wise, and Slippy, well, Slippy just has his own kind of sound. It's all very similar to previous voices too.

That just leaves the story. Kind of a lame Borg invasion premise, but I suppose it's better than "OMG Andross again!!!11"

So that is my impression of the game. If you've played it, give yours as well, and if not, I'd recommend picking it up.
