They have an google API key and usually have maxed out their number of queries by now, but try it later, it was working earlier today. Plus gizoogle page translator is always fun and working.
What the fuck?? I'm not sure if I'll be able to laugh at Kramer anymore, even after his public apology on Letterman. Maybe if he apologized personally to the guy he was insulting....
So I blew on the contacts of my Zelda: Oracle of Seasons cart again, seeing if it would continue to be as broken as it's been for the past year in my GBA, and... it worked... save files intact.
Huh? That stupid cart broke (took physical damage -- one of the small sides of the bottom of the cart (where the contacts are) was just gone one day when I looked at the cart... not the side with the contacts, one of the ends, and only the bottom part of the cart (not the whole side), but still...) and stopped working over a year ago, at the same time that Super Mario Bros. Deluxe broke (to this day, the most I've ever gotten out of it is a garbled bootup screen that crashes) and I'd never thought it would work again... this summer I tried taping over the end of the cart to see if that'd help, but it didn't. Then I noticed that it seemed to be booting in my GBC (which, remember, has a dead screen, so all I could do was hear it and the music seemed to be playing)... and then today? It just decided to work in the GBA again. Bizarre.
(also at the time when I checked my GB games and found those two problems I also found Mole Mania and Zelda: Oracle of Ages had lost their saves... but save files put on both carts afterwards are still there, so I'm not sure if it was a dying battery, given that those files have been there for a while now...)
Since then I had some other GB games end up wiped, but I'm pretty sure that those ones really are dying batteries. Well, maybe not Kirby Pinball (despite it being one of my older games, it only wiped when I accidentally turned the system on and off a bunch of times quickly, and the highscore I put on the system a few months ago is still there...), but the others with problems. GB games have smaller batteries than major system carts, so it'd make sense that they wouldn't all last as long...
Anyway though, it's interesting to see my original Oracle of Seasons file. I played OoA first and OoS second that time, but I have 14 hearts and 100 deaths... in my second OoS-first one I only got through the first three dungeons, but have 25 deaths already... :)
Of course with a dead dpad I can't actually play it in my GBA, but the GB Player should run the thing...
The gist of it is, the first person to donate a PS3 to Taco Bell will recieve 12,500 in "Taco Bell Bucks" (which they consider to be a lifetime supply). The PS3 itself will be donated to charity.

I only played it for a few minutes yesterday because I wanted to save it for a time when I could devote at least an hour or so to really get into it. That time has now come and I've put slightly over an hour into it now.
Aside from a few minor complaints about a somewhat noticeable blurriness present in the background [something which will probably be fixed with some composite cables], they look really reall good. It's not "ZOMG better than Gears of War!!11!!" or anything of that sort, so don't even bother placing it besides those kinds of games, but there's a lot of detail in the world and just the way it's made is great.
Sword combat with the Wiimote is awesome, Gamespot is stupid and foolish for trying to say otherwise. There's these trolls guys that come at you and you just put some beat down on them with a few quick slices of the 'Mote. It's incredibly satisfying and doesn't feel nearly as tacked on as some have said.
Initial reaction: This is Zelda at it's finest. Do not miss it for any reason.
Man, Excite Truck is all kinds of awesome. It's got some really good graphics, some insane jumps, huge wrecks, high speeds, crashing through trees, everything you want in an arcade racer. I've already gotten through the first two cups on Excite mode and I cannot get enough of this game!!
The only thing I would dock it for is the multiplayer. It's 2 player max with no online mode, that hurts it in my opinion. Other than that, it's sweet-tastic.
I had previous engagements until about 10 pm. Then I came home and putzed around a bit before deciding to check out the midnight launch at Wal-Mart. I get there about 11 and find that every Wii had been spoken for as of 4 that afternoon.
Disappointed, I left and headed home, when suddenly it hit me:
"I REALLY WANT THIS GODDAMN SYSTEM"
So, I headed home and grabbed an extra layer of clothes, a folding chair, a heavy sleeping bag, and my DS, and set out for Circuit City to wait like the dumbasses I always laugh at. I pull up to find a mere 5 people out front of the store. I get my chair lai out, coccoon myself in my sleeping bag and began the waiting game. Fortunately, the people I was with were great company, we had fun (we tried to lob empty cheeseburger wrappers into the lighted sign, toss Coke bottles onto the roof, and went searching for an opossum we'd spotted). So, around rolls 7 am and the CC employees begin to appear to our fanfare.
We wait about ten more minutes and the guy comes out of the store (I swear he had a halo) and begins handing out the vouchers. The store doesn't open until 10, but now that we had our vouchers, we were free to leave.
So here I am, waiting an excrutiating 2 more hours before I can get my Wii.
I'll keep you posted. Right now I need to warm up.
