Adventure game (with action scenes and those 'timing puzzle' things, but an adventure game). Looks very, very cool... the demo (for PC) was fun. It's out now for PC, Xbox, and PS2... only one catch, the game was censored a bit from its European release (where it is known as Farenheit)... so the violence is all there but the sexuality was reduced (from AO to M equivilants), of course...

Review. It's decent, but they never mention that the game actually fully supports dual-analog gamepads on PC, so you don't have to use the less-ideal PC control scheme they go into detail explaining if, like me, you have one...

demo (play it! A dual analog gamepad is suggested, but not required... I used mine though, since it's clearly made for gamepad.)

      Why Nintendo Innovates
    Posted by: Smoke - 20th September 2005, 2:49 PM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (3)

    Original article here. lostgarden.com

Thread I found it in here. ga-forum.com

    Selected quotes from thread:

nfreakct Wrote:Perhaps one of the most cogent things to come out of the frenzy of the post-Revolution controller unveiling, a pretty well-grounded look at why Nintendo does the crazy things it does. Not because Yamuachi is crazy (he is), not because Nintendo likes pushing hardcore gamer's buttons (an amusing side effect), but why the business model they pursue stresses the idea of doing things differently.

Rahul Wrote:In the book "The Brand Gap: How to bridge the distance between business strategy and design" by Marty Neumeier, which I'm currently reading for work, page 153 has some things to say about "INNOVATE":

    Quote:
    - It's design, not strategy, that ignites passion in people. And the magic behind better design and better businees is innovation.
    - Radical innovation has the power to render competition obsolete. The innovator's mantra: when everyone zigs, zag.
    - How do you know when an idea is innovative? When it scares the hell out of you. ( [Image: laugh.gif] Hello GAF!)
    - Expect innovation from people outside the company, or people inside the company who THINK outside.
    - Make sure the name of your brand is distinctive, brief, appropriate, easy to spell, easy to pronounce, likable, extendible, and protectable.
    - Logos are dead. Long live icons and avatars.
    - Bottom line: if it's not innovative, it's not magic.

Bush Advances Humanity, Despite Liberal Nay-Sayers
    Posted by: Darunia - 19th September 2005, 9:49 AM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (63)

The future of America as a major world power is increasingly in doubt as political division continues to weaken our national resolve. President Bush seeks to endeavour to keep the US at the top of the astronomical powers by keeping the initiative. As China, India and Brazil (try) to recreate out successes of the last century, a lazy, self-indulgent American society has lost interest in the benefits of the space industry, preferring to waste the money on social welfare for illegal immigrant leaches and the likes thereof. I for one think that upping the ante on the NASA budget and pushing forward the envelope of space exploration is absolutely essential. In this article, NASA submitted a manned mission to the moon to stay on for an entire week by 2018, and using the same CEV vehicle, to Mars thereafter. Thoughts?

Treasure wants to release Sin & Punishment!
    Posted by: lazyfatbum - 19th September 2005, 9:42 AM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (18)

So you made a game for N64. The system died before you had the chance to release it. You start making games for the GBA and then after releasing some successful games for it, you say you're done with the system. Then announce a joint venture with Sega to make Bleach for DS. And now you want to release that game originally planned for N64 for an 'unknown system'. The game, as some of you might remember, is a 3-D shooter cross of Jet Force Gemini and Starfox where you play on-foot through arcade-styled 3-D levels 'on-rails'.

    ahem

GEE, A SHOOTER WITH 3-D GRAPHICS WHERE YOU AIM THE RETICLE TO FIRE AT BAD GUYS

THAT WAS MADE FOR THE N64

THAT COULD BE PORTED TO DS RATHER EASILY

AND TREASURE ANNOUNCED GAMES IN DEVELOPMENT FOR DS

I WONDER WHAT SYSTEM IT'S GONNA BE ON?

    :D

If it turns out to be on DS, it's going to be a must-have.

      Cheating in a Relationship

    In a relationship...

What is cheating? How does someone cheat? How far does someone have to go before it is considered a cheat? Can you cheat on someone you are not committed to? Can you cheat on someone without doing anything? How bad is cheating? Are there degrees to cheating? Is cheating ever justified?

The straight to DVD movie, The Untold Story of Stewie Griffin, is now available online. This 88 minute gem is pretty funny. I definitely recommend downloading it before all your friends buy it on DVD. Suckers.
