RPGs where your character miss...A LOT.
    Posted by: Great Rumbler - 3rd March 2008, 3:59 PM - Forum: Tendo City - Replies (45)

Okay, so I'm trying to play Baldur's Gate II and Fallout 2 and about 75% of the time my characters just completely miss. I guess I understand the concept behind this, but after a while it gets really, REALLY annoying.

If there's one thing that console RPGs do better, it's this.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins (2009)
    Posted by: Sacred Jellybean - 2nd March 2008, 10:24 PM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (8)

I am so glad we took in this smiley: :Gonk: We found it on our doorstep in a bundle of blanket in a cardboard box and said, "Eh... why not." Now, the time has come for good ol' Gonk to fulfill his purpose.

McG of Charlie's Angels 1 and 2 and music videos fame is directing the next terminator movie. :Gonk: Oh god. The horror.

Awful, awful, awful. But Christian Bale is playing John Connor. Wow... he's a great actor and I'm surprised to see him take such a role, but maybe his role as Batman has helped springboard him into something like this.

Personally, I think they should have stopped after T:2, but Hollywood will stop at nothing to completely exhaust any appeal many successful franchises will ever have in lieu of original ideas. Thoughts?

      TovenNet Servers Spring Cleaning
    Posted by: etoven - 1st March 2008, 4:45 PM - Forum: Ramble City - Replies (4)

I did some major maintenance to TovenNet servers today, because my sites were crawling at a snails pace. Attentionality I am paving the way to a migration of TendoCity to TovenNet servers.

    List of server upgrades...

    1. Reduced Server Cooling Temperature 50 Degrees!!
    2. Added new better system fan.
    3. Cleaned Heat Sink On Processor
    4. Cleaned other fans on system.
    5. Removed unnecessary programs from system.
    6. Ran disk consistency check.
    7. Blew out dust from main board.
Over all clock speed tripled!!! Sites are smoking now!!!
    Future upgrades planned...

    1. Install .Net 3.5 support and upgrade AJAX to full version 3.0 from 1.0 beta.
    2. Upgrade Hub to 200mb (ABOUT $200)
    3. Upgrade Server Rack (ABOUT $800)
Anyway I'm Taking Donations for the above 2 future upgrades.
Help support TovenNet servers and the continuation of our beloved TendoCity. Tell all your frends!

I'm offering the highest donator, after we reach our goal, the prize of a free Wii game of their choice. Addentially all donators will get to post a message on the TovenNet home page.

Just imagine a world where investors can sue companies because they didn't try to screw over enough people. Is that the sort of morality the law is meant to protect?

More experiments are needed. Let's try it with just removing Garfield's thought bubbles, or maybe Jon, or no cat but the thought bubbles remain... pointing at Jon.

Well Joystiq sure are impressed, but me? Not... as impressed. Really data can take any form you want, and a series of noises is one of them.

My main issue is the question of why bother? The DS has wi-fi, which I would imagine could transfer it more reliably, at greater distance, and possibly more quickly than this ever will. The sound can't be pleasent to listen to so that can't be it. It seems like a gimic for gimic's sake.
