It just might you know, you may be on to something.
All sorts of things were said back then, and it wasn't always other people who was saying it. :)

Hmm...I wonder if I can find any of my old posts from back then...
Check out this thread:

The GameCubes problems, and limitations described.

Oh man, that was some good stuff. I can't believe some of the stuff I said back then. :D

By the way, I posted under "It Came From MS".
Whoo! Can't wait!
Neither can I!
Quote:The "second quest" really isn't much of a second quest . Well, it does give up some nice stuff though, but yeah, I would agree that Link's "new clothes" just aren't what I "dig". I like the green tunic outfit. It would be nice if you could equip and unequip it from the menu or something... The only reason I say I'd rather do the "it's got more story data" quest with those clothes is, well, because I'd like it to make sense as far as the story goes. As it is, the clothing thing is just a gag I'd like to disable.

That said, I really don't care at all, I just wanted to explain why I would prefer an option there. Oh well...

Yeah, you get more story data or something, which is why I was dissapointed that you had to use that stupid costume... the joke when you get the 'clothes' is funny for a few seconds, but when you realize that you're stuck with that stupid thing for the rest of the game? I don't think I'll play the second quest. :)

Quote:Oh and, I hope there are more items. I mean, the item menu looked huge at first in WW, but when I realized 3 of the slots were just bags and a number of them were just silly quest items like the camera, well, in the end there is a small number of items Link can equip in this game, compaired to most of the other games.

Yeah... first, the bags... they were useless, pretty much. You had to collect some of those items for a couple of sidequests, that's it... really they served very little purpose. Some other more useful items would be better... or something, I don't know.

Quote:Haha, I love dressing my characters up in games, and as bizarre and taboo as possible. That's what games are for! Heck, the most fun I had in Animal Crossing was designing patterns for hats and shirts.

Capcom vs SNK 2 EO has a color editor, it's pretty cool... the only problem is that it only lets you use one custom color set at a time (activated to use). But still, it's cool.
Great Rumbler Wrote:Animal Crossing as a whole is considered girly, I found out that much at TeamXbox. Of course they were also hardcore Xbox fanboys, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Animal Crossing is hardcore, and I won't hear anything different!
You're darn right its hardcore! I tried to explain that to those punks at TeamXbox, but they just couldn't understand the beauty of Animal Crossing.

You know what's kind of funny? Back then, four years ago, we talked a whole lot about Fable. Fable didn't even come out until just a few months ago!!
Wasn't Fable a PC title four years ago?
Fable...*snickers*

A good game for sure, but hardly what Peter Monyleux had planted in our mind years ago.

While those people were waiting for Fable I was pulling weeds, breaking my back to pay off my loans for Nook, scavenging for a complete furniture set, writing threatening letters to my neighbors, and doing everything I could to please the goddamn wishing well.

starts humming
I had the time of my life...

I can only imagine what the next Animal Crossing will be like (the one on Revolution)
Animal Crossing really ruined my social life. I finally realized I had a problem when I didn't go to a party because there was a sale on carpet at Nook's.
Lol
DMiller Wrote:Animal Crossing really ruined my social life. I finally realized I had a problem when I didn't go to a party because there was a sale on carpet at Nook's.

lol, I kind of did the same thing. The mayor had asked me to turn on the light house everyday between 6-10pm for two weeks, the last day of which I was invited to go somewhere with some friends. I told them I could meet up with them after 6:00pm, I have to turn on the lighthouse. One of them knew what I was referring too and laughed at me, the others we're just confused.:D
You coulda just time warped :D.
I thought about it but I figured that was cheating. I respect Animal Crossing far too much to do that. O_0
I felt the same way. There were times I thought about time warping, but it felt like I would have been disrespecting the developers by doing that. It would have defeated the whole purpose of the game.
I 'time warped' in Rogue Leader, for when you have to complete the training missions at all four times of day...
Haha, yeah I see what you mean. For the most part, I've never time warped... BUT, when I had some place to be I have skipped a few hours here and there. I just make sure never to go BACK in time (I'll just revert the clock and not play it for a while afterwards until it has "caught up").
A Black Falcon Wrote:I 'time warped' in Rogue Leader, for when you have to complete the training missions at all four times of day...

That's a bit different, though, since Rogue Leader doesn't revolve around time like Animal Crossing.
I would like the option, just for shits and giggles, to have a real time 24 hour cycle in Zelda.
But lazy, it IS real time :D. Their world spins pretty frickin' fast, that's all.
I always felt OOT's Hyrule felt like my backyard. And to me, that's not so bad. My backyard is pretty large, and there's a lot back there that I don't see often, yet I can see it all in one setting if I desire.

Funny, in GTA, it's cool to drive from one end of the city to the other and see stuff. In real life, it's like "oh shit, I wish I was there already."
Because you can't drive really fast and fly over jumps.

...

Or most of the other things that you can do while driving in GTA.
It Came From MS

I remember you! You were there back when I used to post at TXB. I remember when I posted an overall positive, but critical, write-up I did after playing the Splinter Cell demo, and I got FLLLLLAAAAAMMMMED.

I can't remember my name back then.. Maybe just Bobs_Hardware (my usual forum name). I had a lot of arguements with John Highlander..
Oh, and about that thread. Some dude's signature is:

I got into arguments alot with Stooge and Deadpan.

SC was just something that you didn't touch. It was the epitome of the Xbox's superiority and to question it in any way was the same as putting into question the greatness of the Xbox. It was the same for Metroid Prime and the GC. :)

There were a few okay guys there, like Eddddd and Speevy.

^something like that.
GAH!!

But my Bobs_Hardware account works too now!
I used to post at Team Xbox as well, but it got too annoying for me. If you posted anything pro-Nintendo or anti-MS you got flamed. I guess it's like that at most big message boards, but I just couldn't take it anymore.
OB1 Wrote:Haha, I love dressing my characters up in games

Me too. Especially rpgs. I also love it if a game has the option of customizing your characters looks. I can take over an hour carefully picking out each facial feature. Hey, if it's a long game I'm gonna have to live with this character for a while. I want to get it right.

OB1 Wrote:I'm just saying that it's considered by society as being pretty girly.

Then consider me girly I guess.

An hour? Maybe a bit long, but I'd think it would be perfectly normal to want your ingame avatar to reflect what you want it to be, and for people to want to spend the time to do that...
Well the game in question was an MMORPG. And I'm a very indecisive person.
Ah, that explains it. :)

Yeah, I have trouble making decisions too...
And that's why MMORPGs should have like... some sort of place where you can get a TOTAL MAKEOVER :D. Like, a complete overhaul of your appearence whenever you want.
Especially with the games that let you modify a whole lot of things, like body preportions... :)
Ya know, it's a little odd that EVERY single male in WOW has the muscle tissue of Zeus, whether he's a warrior or not.
Heh, that is funny. I'd rather have a rogue not look like Conan.
And to counter that, for "balance", they made all the females standard slender type, with "summer wear" if you catch my meaning.
At least in WoW most of the female characters are clothed most of the time... :)
In Fable it made you play as a guy.

...

Not that I really WANTED to play as a woman, just making an observation.

... you mean like bonnets and such?

GR: No, I think DJ means...*whispers to OB1"

OB1: What, you mean like...mullets?

GR: What?
Yes, that's what I mean OB1.
Really?
Quote:In Fable it made you play as a guy.

Just one of the many ways that game got cut back from its original design...
Indeed... The end product is basically just another PC RPG in the end, only with real time combat. And, to add insult to injury, they are basically just saying "screw you" to the "Only on XBox" logo on the box and releasing it, in a MUCH improved version (though still not their original vision I take it), on the PC.
Yeah, the PC version will have more content, but it won't be a totally redone game... it's still the Fable that dissapointed a lot of people.

Oh yeah, and you shouldn't be annoyed about it getting ported to PC... how is that bad? Isn't it good when you allow more people to play your game? And it's still console-exclusive... that's an out other games have used (like Rogue Squadron and Battle for Naboo -- they were console-exclusive on N64, but came out on PC too)...

Keeping it only on X-Box is only good if you're an X-Box fan. :)
"only on xbox" means "not on the competiting consoles". PCs don't count.
As I said, just like how Rogue Squadron was "only on N64". :)
I wasn't contradicting that...
