I thought I had replied to this already, but apparently I missed it. It's a good thing someone else finally posted in the thread or it would have gone unanswered forever!
So anyway.
I thought it was funny that you said they don't tell anyone what to believe, then immediately point out that all of their songs are "overwhelmingly anti-religion, anti-governmental, anti-popular culture, anti-scientology, etc." -- in other words, all of their beliefs. If we're arguing semantics, you could say that they don't TELL people to believe what they do, and they're just presenting it for people to accept or reject. But, in any case, we can agree to disagree when it comes to Tool.
And I'm still not sure if that line about respecting my knowledge of music was sarcastic or not.
