It actually gets a lot worse in the later seasons. Everyone I know basically gave up on the series.
I made a mistake, I saw the first episode a long time ago and completely forgot who the main character that basically starred that episode was. I do remember it being pretty good though. Later episodes he met a bunch of other people, and well, the show fell apart when it tried to show how real people would interact. I daresay they're possibly the most insane and dysfunctional lot of humanity they could have picked. Frankly, they should all have died by this point leaving more capable humans as survivors.
