Jim Power in the Lost Dimension in 3D - $8, cart with box, insert, and manual (no 3d glasses, if they originally came with it). I kept telling myself not to buy it, you've played Jim Power emulated and it's insanely hard and frustrating, it's not worth it... but, probably because it actually came with the manual and wasn't too expensive, I caved and bought it. And yeah, it's Jim Power all right. Good graphics, great music, ridiculous difficulty level. Haven't managed to beat the first level yet, which is to be expected with how hard this game is. It's a memorizer action-platformer, you'll only get through once you've pretty much memorized everything in the game... but the gameplay is somehow somewhat fun, and the pretty good graphics and music help as well. It's got a great European computer game look to it, which of course it is (being a port of a European Amiga game and all).
As far as the console ports of the game go I do like the Turbo CD version better, it's a more accurate port of the original while this SNES version has been altered in a bunch of ways, from the bouncing platforms to the new Mode 7 levels. That version is somewhat inaccessible being on the Turbo CD (Japan only too), though, and has no parallax at all (versus the SNES version which has multiple, incredibly fast-moving layers of parallax that it uses to try to create the 3d effect; all it does is confuse the player, until they manage to train their eyes to ignore it...), but at least you don't get the instant eye-gouging movement of the SNES version...
It's still a good game though, despite the massive flaws. I wish it'd been a little easier, had saving, more levels (break it up after the miniboss?), or something, it's a good game but the insane difficulty naturally drives a lot of people away. And the later levels just get harder. So yeah, I don't regret buying it, yet at least. :)
