Quote:big guy: The emotions don't rest soley in the eyes; it's in the animations as well. Sure they could do it with a realistic look, but it wouldn't look half as good.
And I don't know why you can't take anything seriously because of the look. There are plenty of serious parts in this game and I found them to be several times more convincing as the ones in OoT or MM. I mean, do you not watch anime for the same reasons?
the emotions aren't solely in the eyes, but you said that the big eyes showed off emotion ,so that'what i focused on in my rebuttal, but i don't see why OOT's style wouldn't allow expressive animations.
no, i do watch anime, and i enjoy it. OoT had an anime look, and i was able to take it seriously. it's just the links model in this game turns me off to the point that several emotional moments have been totally ruined by his presense. you're welcome to disagree with that, but it doesn't change the fact that that is what happened.
also, i'm not trying to restart the arguement about the game's look. i'm merely attempting to comment on my opinions about the game, and while so far i have focused much on the graphics, it's only because i'm not terribly far into the game, and have little to comment on aside form the graphics. and i'm also trying to make it a point that the "wait until you play it, then you'll see how cool it is" argument has completely, totally, not worked on me. i would say that the problem lies in me, though i don't see it as a problem, only an opinion...so in my opinion i think this look is pretty shite for the game, and having played it, i feel that way more than ever.
