Quote:remember this is a early build , War craft III change direction almost entirely a year after it was first announced. It had originally been conceived as some sort of MMORPG with armies and instead of one dude.
Actually, WCIII did start off as an RPG, but a small-scale party-focused one, not an MMO. The camera was closer in and the RPG elements much more emphasized... I remember the PC Gamer issue where it was first shown. I was interested, but was definitely happier when it ended up as a more traditional RTS...
Quote:As for story, it's a matter of opinion. I personally still prefer WC3's storyline.
It feels like a rehash of SC's story in many ways though, with a few things changed... and the game is so, so easy. SC/BW has a much better story and single player mode. I didn't even finish TFT, and that wasn't because it was too hard... I just got bored. I only finished BW because of the cheatcodes, but that wasn't because I didn't want to, but because of how hard it got. The BW model was better. :)
And Hard Mode doesn't count.
