Dark Jaguar Wrote:Mind expanding? Evangelion? I watched that series just because so many people talk about how deep it is, but it rang as shallow as any emo teen story I've ever seen. "My father hates me. I'm fighting in a giant robot but nobody loves me.". Ugh, the whole thing just rang stupid to me. And the end was just a pathetic philosophy student dropout thing. Wow, how incredibly deep. He figured out that the universe operates by specific laws and that it's enough to actually be able to enjoy life. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT, IDIOT. Also the severe pushing of some odd philosophy that the world is entirely determined by your own mind, which is odd because I must be pretty messed up if this is the world I created. More accurate to say our view of the world is only via our sensory input of it.Since the entire point of the serious escapes you at such an astronomical level there no point in explaining it.
The whole thing just wrang as tripe to me. Why do people like that series again?
Or more subversive to say, my view of the world as my minds eye constructs the planet around me, involves you being wrong and the show being uber bad ass.
