Umm... so setting it in another place means its not set in medieval times? It is... Medieval-style times, but with magic and all kinds of non-human races.
Oh, and my main issue with fantasy (as we've discussed several times before) is how they are in some time warp where they never progress to possess meaningful amounts of gunpowder and are stuck in the middle ages for thousands of years in most cases...
