Nah, I'd have to disagree. There were many side quests in FFX, but you can only bother doing them RIGHT at the end of the game. It's a shame that the whole game is one massive one-way street the whole way up until the end. Maybe if they allowed as much going on your own during the quest as all the previous games I'd have liked it more. Aside from that (which I consider to be a big issue) it was a pretty good game.
Still, tt had far more than any other game of the series. Which is all I was saying. :)
And I personally didn't even notice how linear it was. I didn't want to go anywhere else. Just wanted to see what happened next the whole time.
But I guess Square knew how linear the game was, which is why they allowed you to go play Blitzball (which counts as a sidequest, anyhow) at any time you wanted. :)
