Just because you have the right to doesn't make it right.

No, not in the sense that it was a sin or a crime (well, a crime against art maybe ), but it can still be stupid or make something worse. He's got the full right to do whatever he wants to his movies and there's no moral problems at all (well, unless he films himself eating babies or something and puts that in the movies), but he could still be said to have made the movies worse for what he did, like if he changed Darth Vader into a nagging englishman.
