Is it just me or do those who use hyperbole on a constant basis actually get angry at people who don't?

I think that the only live coverage that'll be on Nintendo's site is of their press event.

What I find interesting is that both Microsoft and Nintendo have sites set up specifically for E3 information. Granted Microsoft is at the advantage because all their demos and movies will be up for free download on Live. I know some other publishers/studios are putting up similar sites as well. I haven't heard if Sony is doing anything like this or not yet.

I did go ahead and upgrade my Gamespot account again to get their daily live coverage from the floor. It looks like everybody having their own sites set up for info has affected Gamespot's prices as well (yay for me), the subscription is only 2.95 a month as opposed to last year's 7.95.

I think you need to put that image into context GR. Otherwise people might assume it's a phtotoshop.

That's definitely one of the odder game pictures I've seen... it's Rayman, though, so I'm sure the game will be fun. :)

Shit the bed?? is that screen from Wii??? IT IS??? that's crazy!!! check out the fur shading and that afro! Not to mention the giant spider, oh holy moley imagine that shit in movement, is there a movie of it yet? probably not, but just imagine it! 8 giant bunny hunting legs of death and a *realistic clown afro*!!! WOW!!!!! and it's been confirmed as a Wii screenshot, in wide screen progressive glory!!!

    also:

    ---
    Wii this October?

3rd party developer Midway may have inadvertently let the release of Nintendo Wii slip. The official announcement will probably come next week but here is what Midway had to say in a recent press release.

    Midway press release:

Blitz: The League (Nintendo Wii; October 2006) - The celebrated arcade-style football franchise is back and better than ever with a new treatment of America's most popular sport. Blitz: The League exposes the harsh and troubling, behind-the-scenes stories of a fictional professional football league.

As you can see the release date for Blitz states that it is coming to Wii in October. Lets just keep those fingers crossed and we will see if this bodes true

    ----

"The title is being developed by Ubisoft’s award-winning studio in Montpellier, France led by Michel Ancel, creator of the original Rayman game, the critically acclaimed Beyond Good & Evil and Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie."

I'm bleeding in the good way!!!

Now you ready for even more fun? This doesn't actually mean that Wii will launch in october, it could launch in August, July... you get the idea, with Blitz launch a month or two later. if it's not earlier than october, october is still a whole 31 days before november, and that's a good thing.

Oh and add 'Free Radical project', brothers in arms 3 and ghost recon 4 and of course Rayman: Rabbids to the Wii (huge) game's list!!!!

Hahaha, you're reaction is like the exact polar opposite of the general consensus over at GAF. :D

Although, it's actually thought to be a picture from the PS2 version that accidentally got put together with Wii stuff.

It looks like two kids playing video games, one of them just returned from a concert and they decided to play over at grandpa's house (or they invaded an elderly man's home). Nothing unusual at all. Well, he's holding a wiimote.... that raises an eyebrow or two.

Why is it the polar opposite? They dont like realistic clown afros? :/ And look at the awesome lighting effects, I wonder if it has volumetric effects, the fog and dust certainly look to be volumetric but we haven't seen it in motion yet. I imagine that spider to be shiny with an environment map that picks up lighting changes sorta like Metroid Prime's metalic objects (her arm cannon).

The little squatter bunny in the back (about to get trampled) is my favorite, i imagine him having a voice that sounds like a elderly black frenchman who smoked since birth and yells in french. Like a french harvey firestein, Just look at at him waddling back there and imagine that type of voice i explained yelling:

Bunny in back: SACRE NOM D'UN CHIEN PUTAIN!!!! SANS PREVENIR ATTAQUE LE GARGANTUESQUE ARAIGNEE ASSASSINAT MOI!!!!!

Bunny in front: A MOI LEVRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spider: 'Ey now, no worries mate, ohm just gonna pet ya!! ...with me fangs. 'En me and me mate'll put clawn ahfras on ya! ...'E'll 'ave a ball we will!

Bunny in back: ??? MINCE ALORS!!!! LE ARAIGANEE EST AUSTRALIEN!!!!!!!!!!

    All the bunnies: MERDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since it seems the accelerometer in the nunchuck rumor is true this quote makes me very excited.

Quote:GI: It’s been rumored that the new big Revolution secret is the fact that the nun chuck controller is also motion detecting…

Atwood: Really. That’s interesting. I would say 9:30 in the morning on Tuesday of E3 will be filled with surprises and I would just show up. Because there’s been a ton of speculation. Some of it’s right. Some of it’s not. We’d say that if that’s the only secret you’re expecting you’re going to be very surprised.

    Quote:E3 2006 Predictions: Nintendo
    Topic: Console Games
Whoops! I was planning on posting Nintendo predictions immediately after the Sony ones went up, but then FedEx arrived with my copy of New Super Mario Bros. You guys are lucky I even found the strength to shut it off, by cracky. Anyway that means I can kick off my Nintendo predictions with

    * New Super Mario Bros. will be totally awesome. This is not so much a prediction as it is a fact, but most people will be discovering it for the first time at E3 and will realize how cool it is. The only problem is that the E3 demo will only be a couple of brief areas, not enough to show off the extraordinarily deep level of content therein. But it ships on the 15th, so it won't be long.
    * As awesome as NSMB will be, it won't be the best DS game on the show floor. And to really throw you for a loop: neither will Zelda.
    * Remember the amazing surprise when Twilight Princess was shown off at E3 2004? Nintendo's press conference on Tuesday will be something on the order of two dozen of those "holy shit!" moments, all strung together. Fanboy tears will flow.
    * Nintendo will make some surprising announcements about online for both DS and Wii.
    * The "nunchuck" attachment for the Wii will also have an accelerometer inside it -- it won't be able to detect the position of the controller relative to the screen, but it will be able to detect tilt.
    * Mario, Animal Crossing, and Super Smash Bros. will be shown for Wii, but that won't be the extent of the lineup. There will be plenty of new franchises geared towards the casual market. Expect Nintendo to also show plenty of tech demos that may or may not become full products.
    * Wii, like PS3, will be in a closed-off area at E3. No Wii kiosks at third party developers' booths. The line will be significantly longer than any other wait period at E3, including PS3.
    * DS will take up the majority of Nintendo's remaining show floor space, but the GameCube and GBA will play host to a few games each. There won't be many of them, but they'll be there. Zelda Twilight Princess will be out in the open, although the Wii functionality may only be demonstrated in the Wii room.
    * Wii's graphics will be better than expected, but (of course) significantly less detailed than PS3 and 360.
