Why do my sickly grandparents who can hardly afford healthcare, let alone the cost of living, always vote straight Republican in every election?

This is a great question about much of the South and Midwest... why do they vote against their economic intrests? One of the best answers that I've seen is that they are voting morality over pocketbook -- their hatred of abortion and gay rights overrides economic sense, sadly.

But you gotta ask yourself, did I say that because it's what you expected me to say or was it because I really believed it; or we could delve even futher and ask if I said that because I enjoy throwing out random sentences instead of actually participating in debates [which I do]? It's definitely...a mystery.
