Something called Cheetahmen 2 basically. (I don't even know if there was a Cheetahmen 1...)

    <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BLabc_RGZMY&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BLabc_RGZMY&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

A few notes. The first part is not edited together. The levels actually do just end like that. No cheat devices were employed. At the midway point you actually do become the green giant with infinite air jumping ability for some reason. The bosses are exactly that glitchy, and no, nobody has any idea what is up with that crazy monkey thing at the end, just before the game just goes back to the title screen. And yes, they did rip off Super Mario Brothers with those coin blocks...

    That game... is... terrible.

    Catchy music though.

It's a sequel to one of the games from Action 52, evidently (where Cheetahmen I is, I guess). And yes, it looks horribly awful...

Apparently it's a Japanese internet fad! Check out all those other cheetahmen videos. It's like that game is their own Chuck Norris.

Was the game even released there, though?

I don't even know what country made that game ABF, but if it wasn't then the fad probably started when some innocent Japanese collector obtained it as an imported copy from our side, was exposed to it's horror, and shared it with the world in the form of a hilarious web site based send up.

I asked because GameFAQs at least only has a US release listed.

Huh, and it's evidently incredibly rare, maybe? There's only one listed on EBay (US copy) and it's an auction with a minimum bid of $500... no bids though. :)

Given that we have Mike Huckabee telling Chuck Norris jokes, sitting next to Chuck Norris, anything is possible....

Japan actually has a special program for this sort of thing?

I meant that given this, such things are more likely than you may like given how you used a :( smilie... I first saw that ad (online) a few days ago, and I was definitely surprised by it. I'd never have expected a presidential candidate to have heard of the Chuck Norris net fad, much less make an ad about it!

... probably some staffperson knew about it. :)

There's an online Mario Paint clone/emulator thing that can be used to make those things. There are several of them, actually... that's one, obviously. It's not the only such program, I'm pretty sure.

Here's another song inspired by the game...
