Do they ever talk about past Cubs players who did really well for the team? 'Cause in the Skyreach Centre (the extremely loud Oilers stadium), I always hear some person or another talking about Gretzky and Messier and Kurri and how awesome they did for the Oilers and how much they miss them.
Just a question for you, DMiller. Do you know how the heck the Cubs couldn't win anything (way back when) with Fergie Jenkins getting over 20 wins for 6 seasons in a row??? Just mind boggling.
Yeah, we talk about past Cubs players all the time. Whenever a past Cub comes into town they are always mentioned during the broadcasts, and almost everyone in the stands will cheer them unless it's someone like Ismael Valdez who says he didn't like his time with the Cubs. And the reason the Cubs never won in the past even with their great players? The front office. Letting go of Maddux is just one of the many bad moves they made. Luckily things seem a lot better and they have really built up the minors.
