Well Nintendo obviously agrees with me since they made the GBA-SP look more like a gadget than a toy, so that it can appeal to an older audience.
The AB's light only comes from the bottom? Huh, no wonder the lighting looked so uneven. Craig from ign pocket mentioned that while the GBA-SP's light is far better than the AB, it still doesn't beat real sunlight or a flourescent lightbulb, and that there is still a very subtle blue tint (although not as much as there is with the AB). That's a bit discouraging as my Floodlight illuminates my GBA just as well as any flourescent lightbulb.
