What the hell is up with all this fuss over Obama giving a speech to schoolchildren anyway? Conservatives don't even seem to care what he's saying so much as the fact that it's Obama speaking to our youth, thus making himself out to be a role model to them and misleading our youth into being a bunch of little commie bastards.
From what I understand, all he's trying to say to our nation's youth is "stay in school, study hard, and graduate because a good education is key to a successful future." Very stock message, but I see nothing wrong with it, nor do I feel that he's pushing his liberal political agenda onto our nation's children.
The president is a figure whom children tend to look up to anyway, so he's pretty much the perfect spokesperson for emphasizing to them the importance of a good education. Obama isn't the first president to speak to schoolchildren and I'm sure he won't be the last.
