Baseball can't be played. That's the difference. Between the higher injury or mistake chance (turning quickly and running on wet grass... you will fall...), the presence of dirt as well as grass (gets muddy and harder to run in), the small size of the ball that could easily be hard to see in the rain, how it's much harder to hit in rain... sure football must have issues too but if baseball could play in (heavy; they play in light rain) rain they would. It's just a game that needs good or at least decent weather to be fair to both sides... remember things like how the shadows from the stadium in evening, and white stadium roofs, are also a major issue since you can very easily lose the ball in them...
