DJ, DJ, DJ... have you actually PLAYED a Bioware/Black Isle D&D RPG for more than a few minuites? Baldur's Gate 1 or 2? Icewind Dale 1 or 2? Torment? KOTOR?
You just don't seem to fully get what BG-style D&D combat is like... NWN's NPC allies are barely controllable! They aren't to much of an extent that matters...
As for KOTOR, its different from BG since it speeds up the pace of combat and cuts the party size in half, but the same idea is there. Pausable realtime strategic combat... something NWN has, but not as well.
Sure, if you'd mostly play online it would be okay... but its just not the same as a great single player RPg, with depth and complexity (of gameplay and story). NWN doesn't really have that. KOTOR definitely does.
