The archives, when they were on the server, were humongous. UBB was dreadfully inefficient. Each page of each thread had a full .html page, and a corresponding .cgi page. A full, 40-post thread page was around 90-100KB. Multiply that by about three thousand.
Once I killed the .cgi files, which were useless to the archive, that fell by half, but it was still too much.
Now, on that hard drive, I have every Rumble City thread converted into a viewable page, complete with smilies, graphics and icons. So, if I get it back, and I can have someone like etoven find a way to set up a thread listing page for all of the threads, that's good to go. The TC archives were a little messier, as several threads got corrupted, but they shouldn't be too hard to fix.
