I watched the documentary on the Episode 2 DVD and it shows them doing a lot of stuff with miniatures and matting, in particular some of the cityscapes and the arena where the jedis fight the droid army and bug aliens. One complaint I've heard about some of the CG models [namely the clone army and the droids in some parts] is that they look too "plastic". *shakes head in incredulity*

Sometimes you get the scorpion.
