How so? We're talking about gum and how we like to chew a bunch at once... so how is it irrelevant to bring up a retired baseball athlete who used to love to do the same? It was practically the guy's trademark. That whole "beaned in the nuts" thing was just an interesting tidbit (unless my friend who told me it years ago was bullshitting me, which he did occasionally).
I tried some Skittles gum today when I went to 7-11 to get two fives for my ten dollar bill that the god damned quarter machines wouldn't accept which was frustrating because I've been putting off doing my laundry since last week (see, now THAT'S a digression ;)). The stuff was good, as expected... it was just how everyone has described it to me: they taste just like Skittles (although the actual candy is smaller, so I guess you could say their texture is different), so you feel inclined to swallow them.
