MM&B didn't finish off the original story though, so I can assume they will plan something soon. Four Swords Adventure has proven to me that 2D can be taken into AMAZING directions on the latest hardware and that it wasn't pointless to make it for the GCN rather than the GBA, so Megaman 9 (or whatever they call it) in the future could be an amazing looking game if they decided to finish off the story.
Oh ABF, I wasn't calling Wood Man a mini-boss in MM2. Oh no. He's easy enough with Metal Blades of course (as are Bubble Man and even Metal Man, ESPECIALLY Metal Man), but he's still a major boss. No, I was talking about MM8, the PS game. Well, Saturn version. In that version, as an extra, they stuck in Wood Man and Cut Man as hidden mini-bosses for finding some of the bolts. (Oh yes, in MM8, the bolts are limited, limited in such a way that you can't buy EVERY upgrade at the shop, so you have to pick and choose what you want most.)
Anyway, I so want this collection. Sure, the series had it's last major innovations in MM4 (hidden powerups you didn't have to get and the Megabuster, GREAT ideas as well that did make MM4 a very fun game), but they are all pretty fun. I still sorta treasure MM2, but hey it's hard to really decide if I like that, MM3, MM4, or MM&B the most. Actually, yeah I better put MMV for GB in there. The "Worlds" games (as they are called in Japan, the Rockman Worlds series) really reached it's pinnicle there, as far as my experience with ONLY that game (and reading general commentary from other people). Anyway, I'll certainly get both these collections eventually, though not yet. Well, that was pretty much a carbon copy of the opening post...
Anyway, it'll be fun. Finally, I can get all the Megaman games without selling a kidney! (Even used, it costs a bit to get ALL these, and a lot of searching is involved). I do still sorta wish Wily Wars was in there, but it's a loss I can live without.
Hey Edenmaster, I bet ya can't wait to be hearing the new updated music eh? I'd like to hear Spark Man's new tune as well. Namely though, I remember a number of tunes from the other games. I love both of the MM2 Dr. Wily's Lab themes (two songs, 4 levels). They both just got the groove rushing, really made me, as a kid, feel like I truly WAS in a horrible evil scientist's lab. And honestly, if there's a contest between Dr. Wily and that veggie tales villian on being Wily, Dr. Wily wins hands down! Sorry LL, classic show, but Wily was there first and he's just plain wily! Heck, it's in the name! (Though as a kid I thought it was Dr. Willy :D) Dr. Light and Dr. Wily... OR, Santa Claus and Albert Einstein!
Wily (In Zero's mind during a flashback in MMX4): Our rivalry is what gives me motivation in life! Now go, destroy him! That's an order!
(Honestly, if you are going to build a robot with free will just go give him orders.... well that's just plain WILY!)

(And honestly, there isn't any other villian who can pull off looking evil while in a giant blue and gold flying saucer thing.)
Anyway, when it comes to Dr. Wily vs Sigma, well totally different things there. The original series was so light hearted in general, while the X series got all serious. It's hard to believe that they are both in the same timeline, but they are. There's a very clear reason why a big famililar W flashed on Zero's head crystal and he suddenly snapped.
Generally, I'm surprised I managed to stay interested in a series that has, more than many other, just recycled the exact same formula to the ends of time. It's just such a perfect one though! However, one thing. The Zero series really has taken it in a new direction. I would like to see more original sub weapons though. As it is, there are generally 3 or maybe 4 and the only thing that can be added is an element type. If I were to make one, I'd have each of the robot master's weapons be somewhat customizable, with the various customizing bits hidden around the stages. So, one could make that lightning subweapon suddenly shoot as a straight bolt, or as rapid shot, based on the add-on. I think that'd be fun, maybe... It would certainly be new.
