I agree, GTA has room for improvements, but Crazy Taxi has a lot less interaction. The RPG-ish elements (talking to people and such) would help a great deal. Vice City had improvements in freedom over GTA3 though. You can buy property, rack up money, and whatnot. Still, there are other ways it could improve. Killing sprees are only fun for the first ten minutes of playtime and for whenever you get bored as hell or frustrated with a mission. Frankly, I could care less whether or not you could do drive-by shootings. I didn't even pay attention to that part of the preview.
