Great Rumbler Wrote:I'd just liked to drive around in GTA.

Then get Midtown Madness 2 or 3 or whatever it's up to now. It's a better driving engine, the graphics are better and it has more modes of play. There are people walking the streets, but you cant run them over, boo friking hoo.

And Geno, you can tell me not to buy it and leave the rest of you alone. That's fine. Difference is that i'm working hard to get in to an American game developer house and no matter who I go to for a job, all they want to make is bullshit games like GTA. So no, it isn't about buying it or not. I want to see Rockstar burn to the ground and i want American devs to get their heads out of their asses and make some good games so we wont have to rely on Japan all the time for the best games.

The only time you will ever hear of a game that is selling record numbers based off it's gameplay alone is when it's on a Nintendo system and made BY Nintendo Company Limited! America has the best story tellers in the world, but if you judged us by the games we produce you would think we suck on toast and it's all because of moronic little children who werre born from freebasing parents that go "OOO!! i want this game b/c it has rapper artists and hookers and you can do drive-by's!!1 DAWG, G, ITS LIKE BUTTER, OFF THE HOOK, VARIOUS BUZZ WORDS AND PHRASES THAT MTV TAUGHT ME BECAUSE I HAVE NO PERSONALITY AND I'M LEACHING OFF MY PEERS AS TO DESPERATELY FIT IN."

    Well, something like that.

If you keep buying shit, they keep making shit. God it's like living in the dark ages. Can you imagine where video games would be right now if every best seller was a best seller simply because of gameplay? No shock visuals or gore, no cursing or satanic images that make children drool for more or any other bullshit art direction to increase sales because the developers know their game sucks and it wont sell without it. *breathes* Wolfenstien introduced the concept of 3-D gaming. People loved it. What did the average joe say was main contributing factor in the reason he loved Wolfenstien?

Average Joe: GU.... I LIKE THE GUNS AND THE KILLING

So Id says: Fantastic, we'll take the engine we already made in the late 80's and reuse and apply it to every game we make for the next 10 years with barely any advancements but we'll make damn sure that every game has guns and killing!

Amerage Joe: YAY!!!! HEY... HOW COME THE GAMES DONT GET ANY BETTER??///

Id: Gufaw! Here, we'll reuse an older model of the DOOM engine and make a dungeons and dragons thing... we'll call it Hex... no machine guns... we just want to try the market with a new directiion.... spell casing instead of shooting....

    Hex: *fails*

Id: Right! *releases 12 games using a 10 year old engine with guns and killing* wooooo! *makes ungodly amounts of money* *sells the engine to multiple companies*

Video game market in USA: *flooded with old, horrible looking first person shooters*

Average Joe: *scratches head like a retarded chimp* HEY HOW COME MY SUPER NINTENDO HAS BETTER GRAPHICS THAN MY NEW TOP OF THE LINE PC RUNNING DOOM II EXP. PACK VOLUME 34 ONLINE WITH NUDE PATCH?????/ GURF GURF GURF

That's you Geno! I hear you! You're scratching your head while playing GTA VC and wondering why you get bored so quickly and how come it has so many bugs! you're yelling GURF GURF GURF at the top of your lungs right now! Look at you! You make me SICK!

The entire industry didn't take a big step forward with FPS's until GOLDENEYE because before that they knew you would PURCHASE RAT FECES IF THEIR NAME WAS ON IT BECAUSE YOU'SM LIKE A THEM THERE SHIT GAMES THAT YOU ONLY BOUGHT BECAUSE OF GORE OR CURSING AND MEANWHILE GAMES LIKE ANIMAL CROSSING GET IGNORED BECAUSE THERE'S NO PIMPS SLAPPING THEIR BITCHES FOR YOU TO RUN OVER IN YOUR CHERRY MAZDA CONVERTIBLE WITH GOLD HUBCAPS.

Arg. I want people to think before they buy, because what YOU, the consumer, purchase with your hard earned money you got from selling crack to little white children at your school raises the eyebrows of marketing execs who take a good look at what you bought and why you bought it and then tries to emulate it so you buy the next re-packaged bullshit.

The only good thing GTA and games like it do for the industry is make good games look all the better.
