Quote:According to GameSpot, Capcom has confirmed that the anticipated 3D shooter, Dead Phoenix, for the Nintendo GameCube is no longer in production and has therefore been cancelled. This news comes merely a day after Dead Phoenix was removed from Capcom's official site. Though disappointing, the announcement was also expected, since the rapid action shooter was blatantly missing from this year's Eletronic Entertainment Expo. When questioned about its absence, Capcom reps merely stated that there was nothing new to view from this title in its current form. Unfortunately the truth has been revealed. This comes as particularly painful news to those Nintendo fans hoping Dead Phoenix might have been altered to finally celebrate the long-awaited return of Kid Icarus. The transformation seemed likely considering the similarities between Kid Icarus and Dead Phoenix, as well as Nintendo's eager stance towards developer collaborations.
I was really looking forward to Dead Phoenix, it looked like a cool game.
