No, that CPU is new... the Power7 is a good CPU, IBM's latest. Nintendo won't be using the top of the line version, but still it should be powerful, depending on what GPU is in the box...
I mean, yeah, it's not a "several times better than PS3 or 360" situation, most likely, but Wii U DEFINITELY is more powerful than those two systems by some amount. What we don't exactly know yet is what that amount is.
It is true that once the PS4 and X720 come out Nintendo will be behind again, but there aren't any signs that either Sony or MS are ready to launch a new console anytime soon, so it might be a while until that begins to hurt Nintendo, and until then they will have the most powerful system.
I wonder what excuses third parties will use now to not give full support to Nintendo's console? (I know, being cynical, but it's been so so long now since a Nintendo console (non-handheld) has had good third party support that it's hard not to be...)
