    Well, we survived four years of Bush so far, hopefully we'll be able to survive four more...what dumbasses. Have they even SEEN anything that Bush has done in the last four years? An unnecessary war with Iraq, shipping jobs off to China, and one of the worst economies in decades. Oh yeah, let's keep HIM around as long as possible.

    I'm disappointed as hell that Bush won another 4 years... but hell, at least it's over. This damned election has been so stressful, it's nice to finally see its end. No more bickering about which candidate will fuck up the country more for another 3 or so years!

    And I don't see a constitutional amendment getting out of congress, so we don't have to worry too hard about that one right now...

    But you might have to live in Massachusetts, I don't see many more states following suit. I don't get it, it seems like such a simple human rights issue...

    The supreme court of Canada is supposed to make a non-binding ruling on same sex marriage soon. The government said they'll legalize it regardless of what the court says, but the court is expected to rule in favour of it. It's non-binding because rather than apealing lower court ruling legalizing it in some provinces the federal govenment, who controlls marriage decided they supported it, and they asked the suprememe court of their opinion on the changes they will be making to marriage laws.

    Alabama is usually very heavily Republican, but surprisingly, Bush only got 51% of the vote here, whereas Kerry got 48%. I never expected it to be so close. Though now that I think about it, I've been seeing more Kerry/Edwards signs here than Bush/Cheney signs. But then again, I've also been seeing more Bush/Cheney bumper stickers on people's vehicles than Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers.

    Ah, according to CNN Alabama was 63-37... several Southern states were in the mid-50s for Bush (Arkansas and Missouri were about 54-45). But if you mean your town, well, even the reddest states generally have SOME blue area... except maybe Oklahoma. :D

    Yeah, Iowa and New Mexico, both of which went to Gore in '00, narrowly went Bush this time... they didn't matter for the result, just like the other switch (NH) didn't, but it is too bad. But at least there it was close...

    And I think like in the whole state of Mass. only five or six towns went decisively for Bush. :)

    Well, I was at work, and the managers get mad at us if we don't use every breathing minute to work. Whereas they sit in an office with air conditioning, drink Coke, talk about current events, video games, or what all else, and get paid more for it. :D

    Hahaha--and mine, Middleborough, was one of them! Seriously; so many people I know around here are not just conservative, but arch-conservative. Incorrigably, militaristic, let's-steal-and-burn-Kerry-signs conservative. My town, and a neighboring town, Lakeville, were both pro-Bush. I'm glad to have gone against the flow here. :clap:

    Why do my sickly grandparents who can hardly afford healthcare, let alone the cost of living, always vote straight Republican in every election? The influence went down a couple generations in my family, my mom and brother both having voted Republican. My sister and I voted Democratic and my dad, while he voted for Kerry, did not vote straight ticket. My dad's always been a moderate.
