So then, it finally happened. I predicted this move back during Super Mario World days (I just thought "it's just the next step up isn't it?).

Flying into worm holes eh? What weird wild alien species exist in his universe? I suspect suction cup aliens and crazy go nuts stuff, and also maybe the borg, I dunno. I hopes we get to go back to the Star Road.

It looks incredible. It won't be a launch title as I was hoping, but having a Zelda game as a launch title certainly offsets the fact that there won't be a Mario game at launch.

Oh, well I was just assuming it wasn't a launch game since they didn't mention it at the conference. I figured if it was a launch game they would make a big deal about it.

wang CHUNG! They better have it at launch.

I'm gonna make a post in the wii stuff thread about what is known about each game. But so far what i can tell with SMG is that gravity will play a major role in the gameplay, each planet and moon has it's own gravity and obviously flying is back but i'm not sure how it works yet. No mention of Yoshi, Luigi or anything yet but i'm assuming it will not have co-op play. Instead, it will probably have tons of mini-games and special 4 player arenas just like Mario 64 DS and NSMB.

Just so there's no confusion - this is Miyamoto's Mario game that he's been working on since he released Mario 64, Mario Galaxy is Mario 128, finkle is einhorn, einhorn is finkle.

Low poly? Look at how smooth all the surfaces are. And how far the draw-distance is.

Higher quality, downloadable version of that second video. Download now, it looks great... though the person spends most of the video figuring out how to play. :)

Holy... ABF what sort of server are they using? A Texas Instruments 37 calculator?

65MB... and yeah it's not super fast, but not THAT slow... an hour? Didn't take anywhere near that long.

But either way, it's worth it to get a much better quality version of the video and really see how great this game looks... :)

My transfer rate is 9 KILOLBYTES PER SECOND! I'm not blaming you ABF, and maybe it's just a matter of serious lag due to a lot of people hammering the site right now, but the fact is that while the download isn't that big, I'm sucking it up through a straw right now!

Patience, DJ, it's not like just because it's downloading you can't do anything else on your computer until it finishes... :)

Anyway, by now it sure should be done.

Nope, not yet :D. It is still downloading at a very slow rate. I may have seemed angry but it was for comedic effect. I was basically just saying "yes, it is in fact very slow". I can wait, I'm just saying that if you doubt it is that slow, then I'm here to tell you, yes it is.

You seem to have survived a few decades without it, a few months couldn't hurt.

I will confess though, that my entire life I've always felt something was missing. I know now that THIS is what it was all along.

Huh, Mario Galaxy is being made by Nintendo Tokyo (DK Jungle Beat), not EAD... a bit surprising. I guess it shows that they're good...
