Another game.

I post a word, and the next person posts a word that is somehow related to it.

Example:

1. Apple Pie
2. Crust
3. Mantle
4. Fireplace
5. Bricks
6. Mortar
7. Artillery
8. Bombs
9. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
10. James Woods

Easy.

The first word is wireless

Satellite would have bad reception, but how does a direct cable link get bad reception due to a storm? I guess if it was severed by lightning or heavy snow...

Okay, my keyword now...

universe

I'll always use it, it always applies to everything!

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - OB1 - 18th March 2003

We're having a bitch of a snowstorm. Over one foot in less than 24 hours and it's not expected to stop until thursday. It's now snowing at approximately 2-3 inches per hour.

I'm getting a bad reception from some of the local stations.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - alien space marine - 18th March 2003

nothing.
all that life is!Drunk

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Dark Jaguar - 18th March 2003

You can't say you have "a" bad reception. It's just one of those nouns you can't use "a" with.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Great Rumbler - 18th March 2003

You guys aren't playing the game right. :p

I'll start the game over with a new word:

Nintendo

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Laser Link - 18th March 2003

Are you supposed to say "an" bad reception?
My cable (both tv and net) is working fine, despite that storm. Proof that Colorado Springs > Fort Collins.

everything

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Dark Jaguar - 18th March 2003

Nope, not that either. Just "getting bad reception". It's like a pair of pants, you can't have just one pant.

I don't know what that has to do with OB1, but I don't know what it has to do with Laser either!

Is it still snowing up there? We had about 4 inches this morning and it snowed a little throughout the day, but due to the frenzied meteorlogists ramblings of blizzards the entire city shut down today and my school closed at 1:30, after I had been there all morning waiting for classes. I was happy to get out of classes and my midterms, but some super genius decided to shut down the shuttle system at noon and there is NO parking on campus so we all had to walk a half mile back to our cars through the weather that was "too dangerous for the shuttle drivers". And to think I want to learn things from this logic deprived place!?!?

Anyway, that was all to say that since then it hasn't snowed at all and they are quietely lowering their predictions from "3 feet across the front range and snowing 3 inches every hour" to "some areas (aka, the top of Pikes Peak) may get as much as a foot of snow.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - OB1 - 18th March 2003

I was just out in my backyard playing like a little kid and it's incredible. There's over two feet of snow in my backyard, and it's still coming down like mad.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - A Black Falcon - 18th March 2003

Isn't Colorado supposed to be gettting up to 3 feet of snow? Wow... that's a lot.

Meanwhile here it's been above freezing since last friday... literally a foot of snow has melted in the front yard (which gets sun)!

Oh... a word. Um... chicken. (as in chicken noodle soup)

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - OB1 - 19th March 2003

And last week it was in the mid-70's.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - A Black Falcon - 19th March 2003

This is the first real snowmelt we've had this winter... some snow has melted before, and temperatures have been above freezing, but never for very long, and it wasn't near 50 degrees... it was last weekend. And a lot of snow melted in areas that get sun... but this is New England, so I know that probably this week it'll drop under freezing again, and it could snow anytime until mid May...

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - OB1 - 19th March 2003

Wow, they actually made use the the emergency broadcast system thingy. They told us not to drive anywhere.

Fuck beans. I can't go to work, I can't go to Tai Chi practice, and I can't pick up ZOE 2.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Weltall - 19th March 2003

Hahaha, get it? Like the Tropic of Cancer? Haha! Aha..ha....

eh..

It's late, okay?

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Dark Jaguar - 19th March 2003

They actually USED the emergency broadcast system? That's incredible! They didn't even use it during 9/11, and they end up using it during a few feet of snow that will melt off by thursday? Incredible!

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - OB1 - 19th March 2003

Yup. We're completely stuck at home for at least another day. They also told us to call the hospital in case of emergencies so that they can come over here.

This is the worst snow in Colorado history since something like 1915.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Weltall - 19th March 2003

*sigh* I give up.

Oh thank you for that remark, oh great sage!! People have died because of this. Or at least one person that I know of.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Fittisize - 19th March 2003

There's been a ton of snow up here. Like, 4 feet to four and a half. And it was coold. I can't think of a day from start of January to end of February that it was warmer that -15 celsius...most days it was -30 celsius.

The "Snow in Colorado" thread. - Dark Jaguar - 19th March 2003

Yeesh, touchy... Get used to it. People always make fun of the weather related disasters of various regions.

Why on earth? The only reason it doesn't snow in hell is because Satan has at least a little bit of decency. Our snow is just melting and I say good riddance till next year.

Let me get this straight now...Ryan expects us to stay on topic? He's owned this site how long, again?

I suppose if you're into winter sports, I can kind of understand. I can't stand cold temperatures and hate driving in the snow. When you live in my neck of the woods, winter becomes an unavoidable annual ordeal.
