Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 27th January 2005

Quote:Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball, developed by Exile Interactive and Nintendo, includes players from every Major League Baseball team. Players will be able to compete in all 30 current Major League ballparks, as well as in a few from the past. The game has been licensed by Major League Baseball Properties, the Major League Baseball Players Association and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, with statistics and ratings provided by STATS, Inc.

In addition, players will hear real-time, in-game commentary and announcing from some of the best in the business. Nintendo has secured the services of veteran sportscasters Bob Brenly, Rick Rizzs and Tom Hutyler.

Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball will feature new game modes that combine the authenticity of Major League Baseball with the great game play that consumers have come to expect from Nintendo.

The game is currently set for a release in the United States on April 4, 2005. No word on a European release yet.

Interesting...

Huh... Nintendo hasn't done a baseball game in some time (Ken Griffey for N64, right?). Hopefully this can be good... better than those were (I know they got decent reviews, but I didn't like the GB one much and the N64 one was only okay really). Yeah, I know this is a different developer and everything so it'll be totally different, but as the last Nintendo-published baseball game I can't help but make a comparison...

I don't see why.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - OB1 - 27th January 2005

Well this came out of nowhere. It's announced just two months before it's supposed to come out? Can't be good...

I'll just wait for Mario Baseball.

This team made World Series 2K3, supposedly, so it certainly could be good...

I'd like to see how the game looks, but so far no pics have been released.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Weltall - 27th January 2005

I'm very wary about a Nintendo Baseball game.

*remembers Griffey's Slugfest on SNES, where the computer scores 58 runs in the ninth inning every single game*

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 27th January 2005

It's called DIFFICULTY.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - A Black Falcon - 27th January 2005

Yeah, the Griffey game I got for GB was annoyingly hard... I also disliked how small a part of the field you could see at a time, which made catching balls in the outfield really hard, and how there's no save option between innings, only after games, so you had to play whole games...

I didn't play it long before deciding that it wasn't nearly as good as good old Hardball III for PC. :)

So Nintendo is making this eh? Does it cover Japanese baseball or American?

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 27th January 2005

The clarify things, Nintendo is PUBLISHING it and a company called Exile Interactive [World Series Baseball 2K3] is actually making it. And, no, it's only American baseball.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - OB1 - 27th January 2005

I wish someone would make that Bo Jackson game I dreamed up.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - EdenMaster - 27th January 2005

I guess it's up to you!

:shiggy2:

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 28th January 2005

I wish someone would make the Bo Jackson game that I dreamed up. Where you have to play baseball against Jupiter and all that cool stuff.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - OB1 - 28th January 2005

Yeah but that was more of a continuation of my idea.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 28th January 2005

Only BETTER.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Weltall - 28th January 2005

And save puppies from burning buildings... with BASEBALL power!

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Laser Link - 28th January 2005

Until you blow out your leg and never run again. HA! Take that Raider-boy.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - OB1 - 28th January 2005

... what? Was that some reference to Bo Jackson? Because I don't know anything about him other than the fact that he played both pro football and pro baseball, and that he's awesome for some non-reason that I decided on.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 28th January 2005

I remember that he also played against the entire continent of Asia in a game of rugby and WON. That's how awesome Bo Jackson is. And he once bench-pressed the Empire State Building.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - A Black Falcon - 28th January 2005

You're amazing, OB1... Rolleyes

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - OB1 - 28th January 2005

Erm

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Weltall - 28th January 2005

He brushes his teeth with pine trees!
He puts out fires with his super-breath!
He performed quadruple bypass surgery with two toothpicks, needlenose pliers and a broken beer bottle!
He slices, he dices, he makes some mean Julienne Fries!
He's fantastic, marvelous, tremendously titanic!
His skin is the color of pure jet black..son!
He's everyone's favorite action hero.... BO JACKSON
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - OB1 - 29th January 2005

WOO!!

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 29th January 2005

Bo Jackson is so awesome that he's like two ninjas taped together.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - EdenMaster - 29th January 2005

Now in your game, GR, is Jupiter the baseball or what?

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 29th January 2005

No, see, he plays baseball AGAINST Jupiter. Jupiter uses it's mighty storms to hurl the ball with amazing speed and Bo Jackson's all "Nuh-uh, Jupiter! I'm gonna kick your...gaseous atmosphere? Something." and then he hits the ball into space where he then has to go and kickbox with Saturn's moons and Titan swings around at him and he kicks it and it flies into Jupiter, which explodes and destroys Saturn and then Bo Jackson is named King of All Universe.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - EdenMaster - 29th January 2005

That's awesome! But it needs something more...what if PLUTO was the ball that Jupiter threw at Bo??

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - Great Rumbler - 22nd February 2005

That would of course be the coolest thing ever, and yes that's what happens. *steals idea*

Well this game is coming out in less than a month and half and we haven't heard anything more about it, that doesn't really sound like a good thing.

Nintendo + Baseball = Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball - A Black Falcon - 22nd February 2005

Who knows, given Nintendo's allergies to the press...
