I'm serious, Star Wars fanboys are more annoying than Trekkies, id fanboys, and general video game fanboys put together. At least from what I've seen. Anywhere you go you'll see people bitching to no end about how George Lucas "raped my childhood!", hates his fans (even if that were true who could blame him?), is satan, etc. etc. The Star Wars trilogy is coming out on DVD soon and you can't go to any message board without seeing people bitch and moan for a hundred pages about how terrible they think certain things are (even though all the changes are improvements over the SE). I really don't understand that mentality. If you hate the movies so much why the fuck are you wasting so much of your free time complaining about them? And none of them agree on most of the same stuff, they each want their own personal version of Star Wars to be made. It's maddening. Most of the time it's just complaining for the sake of complaining (like how in a couple of scenes on the dvds ILM didn't update some lightsaber shots... WHICH RUINS THE ENTIRE SAGA!).
Complaining isn't always bad, but when there's absolutely no balance and all you can do is complain then you need to shut the fuck up and stop posting on message boards. I complain about Nintendo stuff all of the time, but I praise them for various things even more frequently. They're dumb for being anti-online, but holy crap do their games kick ass, etc. To conclude my bitching about people bitching, fanboys are idiots. Especially SW ones.
Sega's first DS game revealed! Stolen from the GA boards:
I have no idea what the hell that is but it certainly looks awesome. It's from ex-UGA guys (Rez, Space Channel 5) so you know it's gonna kick ass. And supposedly it only uses the touch screen.
Great Rumbler: I fixed your post, you had some of the pics on there twice.
Sweet, it looks like the new Yoshi GBA game will be a platformer using Wario Ware 2-style motion sensor controls. Pretty damn cool, huh? It looks a lot like Yoshi's Story but is obviously not the same game.
Oh and I must give props to Nintendojo for reporting that Yoshi GBA platformer rumor last year. Good call, guys.
Quote:The small development team behind fan game Chrono Trigger: Resurrection has posted some very disappointing news: they have received a Cease and Desist letter from Square Enix demanding they stop making their game. It seems after years of looking the other way, Square Enix has changed its policy on independently-created games honoring their own.
Perhaps it was the quality of the project that triggered this unprecedented response so far into development. Chrono Trigger Resurrection sports professional quality artwork that has further improved since its last showing. Here are a few samples of what you will now never be able to play:
The Chrono Trigger Resurrection site also has a trailer, which is currently down.
It truly is a shame the lawyers have interfered with something so promising. The team is not swayed, though, and is already planning something “new and fresh.” Our sympathies go out to Nathan Lazur, Luis Martins, David Ying, Mathew Valente and Michael Demirel for working so hard, only to have to walk away.
This project really had a lot of potential so it's sad that Square-Enix came down on them like this. Although, it's possible that SE is working on their own update, but it seems like kind of a slap in the face to the guys that worked on this game.
It's a series that's kind of like the movie except without all the stuff that makes your brain hurt. The Standalone Complex is more of a cop show, with an emphasis on action and hunting down criminals rather than complex quasi-intellectual sci-fi stuff. Also, it has some of the best animation I've in an animes series to date, beating out even Last Exile, which looks incredible. The first volume is out right now, so go and buy it because you know you want to.
Btw, it has music done by Yoko Kanno, who did the music for Cowboy Bebop.
