Oh, Rollcage is great! It just takes some time to get used to how the cars handle... anyone who's played the game must agree that its one of the weirdest schemes in the genre...
Anyone make some good custom cars in F-Zero yet? Someone at N-Philes suggested this one and I tried it out. It works great. It handles really well and if you yet the speed to maximum at the beginning of the race it's tough to beat. Use the following parts:

Aqua Goose
Super Lynx
Titan -G4
That brings up one of the very few true flaws with this game -- Story mode makes you use Captain Falcon! He stinks...
Yeah, I don't like being forced to use Captain Falcon. It makes an already difficult story mode 10 times harder. So besides custom cars what is your favorite included racer? I'm a big fan of Little Wyvern. That's the car I used in F-Zero X and it still works well in GX. The horrible body isn't much of a factor because I don't hit walls too much once I learn the tracks and I'm usually dishing out the damage, not taking it. :)
In X, I mostly used Pico... I beat every one of the circuits on all the difficulties with him. :)

Oh, that's one other thing -- GX doesn't keep track of which circuits you've finished with each racer, unlike X. Not nice...

In GX... not sure. I've only unlocked a couple of guys... but my favorites are probably Pico (Wild Goose?), the White Cat, and the Twin Noritta (fastest one, right?).

Oh yeah, and its kind of strange that the 'main character' in the F-Zero series has such a bad car...
Wipeout's controls don't get better after a while, they're always bad. You just have to get used to them. But they're always bad.
No, they aren't bad. They don't seem to be to your liking... but they aren't bad. Its supposed to be that way!
I've never had a problem with Wipeouts controls.

The way I figure it, if everyone else is fine with the controls, and you are not, it's your own damn fault. :)
Mr. EAD is the greatest.
No. If OB1 says they are bad, they are bad and all of us are deluded... can't you remember that he's always right?
The WO controls are very bad, and if you were to use F-Zero's cars with their handling in Wipeout's tracks, it would be the easiest thing in the world. They made the cars handle like shit on purpose, because they couldn't make better tracks with the PSX hardware. The only way they could make the game tough is by making the controls crappy, which is exactly what they did.

So yes, I am right about this. :ass:
I disagree with everything you just said.

No, they aren't bad! They have a specific style... but in no way is it bad. I've never thought of them as bad, not even before I got good at Wipeout... I can't figure out why you think that. Do they handle differently from F-Zero? Of course... but every futuristic racing series has unique handling, so why does that matter? So they don't turn as quickly or nicely as F-Zero. Uhh... so? That certainly doesn't make it "bad"... its just different! Not worse. Different. And I just wouldn't say that the Wipeout tracks are flat and stuff... they are full of lots of sharp turns and hills!
Hmm, I think the difficulty of this game might be a bit overrated... sure, its hard, but its not ALL hard. I just finished each of the three first circuits in first place on my first try at Standard (ie I finished in first place overall in all three circuits on my first play in Standard of each of them)...
Dude, that's only standard mode. Wait until you reast Master difficulty.

The Wipeout cars do control like crap, and I even recall the Psygnosis guys talking about how they had to make the hovercrafts control like heavy bricks because they needed to make the game tough and couldn't make really ambitious courses.
I'd certainly hope Master is harder... :)

Oh, I beat Story missions three, four, and five today, but haven't gotten through six yet. I will fairly soon, though... its tough but not impossible (the one with the bomb that blows up if you go under 700kph...)
A bomb that blows up when you go below a certain speed? That's like Speed 2, only with a car instead of a boat!
Uhh... you DO mean "like Speed, except with a hovercar and not a bus", right? Because Speed is a pretty good movie, unlike the abysmal Speed 2...
That was a joke! From the Simpsons! Of course it's a lot closer to the plot of Speed 1 than Speed 2 (both of which sucked HORRIBLY because it's just another action movie for little kids or adult men who never grew out of "beat the baddie" and the whole selling point of the movie is "look how original our plot device is" which is NOT supposed to be the main point of a good story!)! That's the whole joke! In the Simpsons, where it was told better, they were on a wired bus and were all like "it's like speed 2, only with a bus instead of a boat!". Pay attention to the shows society agrees you NEED to see to survive as a social animal!
Ohh... actually I think I might have seen that episode, now that you mention it... but I don't see why I should have recognized that as a joke...

Oh, and Speed WAS a good movie. :)
But not anymore?
Speed sucked, although I find it funny how DJ puts down grown men who like child-like things when almost everything she likes is for little kids.
It was good, for a pretty much brainless action movie.
OB1, stop reading between the lines. I wasn't insulting the men (yeesh, since when is "never grew up" an insult?), just the movie! My whole attack was in how it claims it's something mature rather than embrassing the fact that it's really just a childish fantasy type movie.

I also have noticed that ABF can appreciate stuff for being a shining example of suckitude.
Now you're saying that the movie sucks for being child-like! You love that child-like stuff!
Oh for the love of...

What the smack is wrong with you? I didn't say that at all! Read it AGAIN.
Haha, now you can't tell when someone is joking!!

:shakeit: :shakeit: :shakeit: :shakeit: :shakeit: :shakeit:
Let's just say your reputation for totally misunderstanding people preceeds you.
HA!

I got DJ with the very same tactics that she uses!!

*high fives GR and ABF*

Haha
....what tactics exactly are these?
Where you (possibly pretend to) say something serious and then when confronted by someone use the "oh I'm just kidding!" card.

That has happened many many times in the past. Just ask GR or ABF what I'm talking about.
....

Are you actually saying you are so egotistical that rather than admit you completely misunderstood me you think there's some huge conspiracy on my end?
:erm2:

Seriously now, you do that all of the time. I know that you were talking about how Speed is stupid because it's trying to be mature even though it's really very childish. I was just doing to you what you do to all of us on a regular basis.
...what?
I thought Speed was a cool movie...
Like right now, you're probably going to say "I was only kidding with you!" in order to back out of this whole conversation.
So you really DO have some strange idea that I'm somehow using some line as a defense. Look, whatever you might think, forget it. As I've said before on the many times I've had to point out I was joking (though these days I make it a lot more apparent that I am), it's all very obviously a joke. You just don't seem to be able to see it. Now, maybe as a result of not being able to see it for what it is you defend yourself by assuming it's all me just lying or whatever, but that's hardly the case. It's just not getting a joke, a misunderstanding. You seem to have held this thing against me for a long time since it's been a long time since such a misunderstanding like what you are talking about has taken place. I humbly request you drop it and any anger you might have. Come on now, be reasonable.
When no one can tell its a joke, DJ, its not obvious...

As for Speed, as I said, its not deep... but its not bad! If you take it for a simple action movie you shouldn't really be dissapointed...
Anger? Chuckle What anger? I'm just pointing out a fact has been very obvious to most of us for a very long time.
The chain of events:

DJ: *makes a comment that's difficult to tell wether it is a joke or not*

Random Person #1: *takes comment seriously*

DJ: *claims to be joking*

OB1: *states that DJ always does that*

DJ: *claims to not know what OB1 is talking about*

OB1: *states that DJ does indeed know what he is talking about*

DJ: *tells OB1 to stop being angry*

OB1: *claims not to angry*

Universe: *explodes or some other dramatic event*

So...who's joking, who's not, who's on first? I don't know. I only know the anatomy of humans and some of the larger canines. I don't know the anatomy of the monster.
Haha, that's exactly how it happened!
I'd say that that's good fodder for my comic, but I'm tired of making it!

...

Just wait a little while I'll probably have one made. :)
Alright...
... and now we still don't know if DJ was serious or not, really...
See what I mean, DJ?
Pardon? How WHAT incident happened? What, are you suggesting the same thing happened here? Um, that was a misunderstanding to be sure, but I was seriously disliking that movie, the only misunderstood joke was yours, but now you say you weren't really joking but was lying.

It would seem you don't trust me. *becomes jaded* Really though, why ARE you so convinced I MUST be lying about whatever? Can't you just accept that either you misinterpret my jokes a lot or I just don't make it clear enough I am joking? Why are you SO convinced I just HAVE to be using some weird sort of defense you just invented?
Come on now DJ, don't try to act like you have no idea of what's going on here. Now you're just acting strange.
What? I do believe you are accusing me of putting up some sort of weird defense and I want to know why you think that's the case. You already explained the nature of this thing, and it sounds stupid. Seriously, why are you accusing me of lying? If I was to lie, why on Earth would I lie in that ONE specific way and only that?
It's just that sometimes when you're in a serious conversation or argument you turn around and say that you're only kidding, and it's very odd. Either you're using that as a quick escape from confrontation or you like to make very unobvious and strange "jokes".
It's very rare that I'm 100% serious, and you know that already. I ALWAYS make jokes right in the middle of serious responses, except in this very post because I am prooving my own statement wrong with this one. My whole goal is to lighten the mood of so called "serious" debates. I suppose if you didn't actually get the joke, you would think my explaining that it was came totally out of the blue. On my end, it sounds incredibly egotistical for someone who I had to just explain I was joking to to suddenly assume then that rather then them not seeing the joke, I was lying. I think we understand each other better now though. Hopefully this non-issue can be resolved and we can get on with more important things, like Captain Falcon's weird button things on his vest!
