one can be cooked quickly the other takes long preperation.

One taste like alot of things the other taste simular to chicken only a little less stringy.
Turkey's better if done right.
Hmm... chicken and turkey, my two favorite kinds of meat... but yeah, when prepared right turkey is better.
Yech...I dislike turkey. I don't like big chicken or turkey meals (hate Thanksgiving dinner), and that only leaves the endless mass of cheap, fake chicken treats at restaurants...which I happen to love. So, chicken gets my vote.
Maybe you just never had a proper turkey. Dry turkey is horrible, terrible (though I still eat it when I get some ketchup, as Chris Farley said, "ketchup"). However, succulent moist turkey is delicious beyond all words.
Chicken is just way better, although turkey is pretty good with brown gravy.
I wonder if there will ever be kentucky fried turkey?

Personally ,turkey if done right rules!

Other favorites to go with turkey is pumpkin pie and "liberty fries"!
Roast turkey with mashed potatoes (real ones, not that awful instant stuff... they are terrible!) and peas is my one of my favorite meals...
turkey is so much better than chicken, there's no debating it...although chicken seems to be more versatile. and i prefer many of the dishes prepared with chicken over roast turkey...which is really the only way i've had it (aside from deli slices) and really the only way i've known it to be done (aside from deli slices).
I don't like poultry.
You see chicken was the first meat that I relized came from animals, back when I was first able to comprehend words and my parents told me it was chicken and I made the conection between chicken and chicken I stoped eating it because at the time I didn't relize that eating animals was normal, then at a petting zoo a few months later I relized that turkeys were animals too so I stoped eating turkey. Of course hamburger wasn't called cow and pork and bacon weren't called pig so I didn't make the conetion between those things until after I relized it was completley normal to eat animals, but by then I had already convinced myself that chicken and turkey were gross so I didn't like the flavor.
that's a shame...the weird thing is, that a lot of people don't like lamb for the exact reason that you don't like chicken and turkey...but those same people tend to have no problem with poultry.

:D
But all this aside, nothing beats veal and catfish. And Mahi Mahi.
Tuna steak is the best.
I don't like lamb, and don't like steak... or most fish. Some is alright (salmon, tuna (salad) or the stuff in fish sticks...) but I don't like it all that much... and ground beef isn't a thing i eat much either.

So I end up eating LOTS of chicken, and some pork. Or vegiterian food... but often its chicken. I don't get tired of it though...

Oh, yeah, turkey really only comes in roast (full size or part of one) and deli slices from what I know... it could come in anything chicken's in but I bet it'd be more expensive and not taste that much better in those forms so they don't do it that way.

But that does raise the question, why turkey deli slices and turkey dogs, not chicken slices and hotdogs? Any reason?
I hear aussies eat Kangoroes?
Any of you ever had a deep fried turkey? It's better than you'd think, In only about 20 minutes time, the bird has a tasty skin with not a drop of moisture leaving it. We made one a few Thanksgivings ago, it was the best turkey I ever ate.

Mmm...veal! People get insulted when I say I eat veal because the animal rights activists get their feathers ruffled by the mere thought. Damn, it's tasty though.

And if it swims, chances are I love it. Crap, lobster, fish, shrimp, scallops. Anything but calamari, blech.
It all depends on how they're made, but overall, I'd have to agree with the majority here that turkey is better. But nothing beats a chicken salad from Tenda Chick. :D
Tendo Chick?? Cool
Fish sticks, ABF?? I bet you like that crappy canned Spaghetti as well.
I never said fish sticks are all that good... I just said its a kind of fish I don't dislike as much as most.

Canned spagetti? Not very good. Not as awful as Kraft-style macaroni and cheese (that stuff is AWFUL!!) but not very good.
Must OB1 and ABF have an argument in EVERY thread?
Our opinions differ on several matters.
OB1 likes to be "hip" and hate all pre-prosessed food. IF it's not cooked by a chef in a fancy restaurant, it's disgusting and he enjoys insulting anyone who eats anything "fast". It's just "hip" to call all kentucky fried chicken "foodlike". Fact is, there is no artificial bacon outside tofu, and all places that use bacon use actual bacon. The paranoid yet popular theory that all fast food places use food substitutes for their meat products is rather stupid and ill-informed, as though meats could actually be replaced with chemicals. Oh, and EVERYTHING has chemicals in it! Chemicals don't mean "unnatural", as most of the fluids in your very body can attest to. WATER is a chemical.
Oh yes, it's just so hip to not like shitty foods, even though most "hip" people like that crap.

DJ, you are doing the same exact thing that you always do. If someone says that they don't like something, you counter it by saying "You're just trying to be cool by not like the cool stuff, because being an outsider is so cool, but that just makes you even less cool!". Come up with some new material, okay? This little comback of yours got old the three hundredth time you used it.
Taco Bell kicks ass.
Cheap and good Got to love Taco bell!
Yeah Taco Bell is pretty good.
Some people say that Taco Bell gets their meat from dogs, which isn't true, but if it is, then it's good dog. :D
Yes, Taco Bell is my favorite fast food restaurant.
I like Taco Bell, too. I like McDonalds, too, but mainly because they make a great chicken sandwich.
I'd rather drink my own pee then eat at mc donalds!
I like McDonald's even though I don't eat it that often anymore. There's just one really big problem with McDonald's nowadays: the commercials. If I hear that damn "Put a Smile On" song one more time, I'm going to kill somebody, and it'll probably be that damn clown! :woo:
Ack, I can't stand McDonalds. How can you people eat that stuff? Just go home, microwave a burger and a bun and sit on it for an hour or so and you'll get the same thing. I don't see why people go to McDonalds to get their extremely bad burgers when there are so many different fast-food alternatives.

And before DJ says something idiotic like "you just hate McDonalds because that's what people do when they try to be cool and you're just so not cool OMG that's so stupid!", I like some other fast food like Taco Bell. But those soggy, baby-diaper-smelling McDonalds burgers? I'd eat my vomit before I eat one of those.
Mcdonalds burgers dont even have pure beef, they got mixed in starch I even heard the mash in worm protein in it.

I eat 'em because I have bad taste. Just like the rest of us who have different opinions than you. Anyone who doesn't have the same tastes as you should be walked all over because how dare we think differently than the God-declared king of factual opinions. God did give you that position, didn't He? No? Who did? The president? Congress? The House of Represenatives? Richard Simmons? That hobo down the street? Nobody? Okay, thanks for clearing that up...

God how I love being a smart mouthed sonovabitch. :D
Seriously though, that stuff is terrible! Name one good aspect of the shitty McDonalds burgers, other than "It R0Xors!".
I don't like McDonald's all that much, all I ever get from there is the grilled McChicken, a fry and soda...the rest of it I'm not fond off. The only passably good fast food burger is Burger King...but Taco Bell blows them all away...ahhh...chalupa... chicken...hmmm....oh yea...thats right....work that chicken mutha fucka....
Yeah, McDonalds isn't very good... Burger King is a little better, but still neither one compares to Taco Bell.
I didn't like McDonald's for a while and preferred Burger King, but lately the Burger Kings here haven't been too great. (They get the orders wrong and their food is burnt and/or dried.) That's why I now prefer McDonald's. But I couldn't agree more that neither one compares to Taco Bell in the slightest. ¡Yo quiero Taco Bell!

Wow, we went from chicken vs. turkey to Burger King vs. McDonald's vs. Taco Bell. That's as close to staying on topic as we've ever been.
On the chicken issue, when I go to McDonald's or Burger King (which isn't very often) I get the chickenburgers. And Taco Bell's best food is the chicken quesadillas and bean burritos. :)
They put too much of that crappy sauce in their regular burritos. Taco John's burritos are a lot better. Taco John is overall a lot better than Taco Bell. They also give you sour cream for the burritos, and their sauces are of high quality.
Sauce? What sauce? I know they don't put salsa in (you have to do that yourself) and the bean burritos have the beans, cheese, and onion... some sauce maybe but I wouldn't say it adds much taste. Taco Bell salsa is VERY mild... their "medium" isn't as hot as the average Mexican places' Mild...
They add too much shitty sauce at the very bottom of the burrito.
Their sauce isn't that bad... sure it doesn't compare to burrito sauce at real mexican restaurants, but its fast food, so what would you expect?

That was, quite possibly, the smartest thing anybody has said in this thread. When you go to McDonalds or Burger King or Taco Bell you aren't looking for a gourmet meal, you're rushing in, getting an adequate meal to keep you satiated, and you're done. If you don't like it, don't eat it, but don't shun those who do. I only get a half hour break to go get lunch, and places like them are a godsend.
Taco Bell is great for a fast-food place, but McDonalds? Come on now. There are several fast-food alternatives to crap like that.
Taco John's, what the hell's that? Never seen one of those around here. I just came from the mall; went to Taco Bell...tried the new cheesy crunch taco thing, where they wrap a hard taco in a gordita flatbread w/ cheese. Was good.

I also always get the chicken burgers, ABF... except for when, briefly, BK had that awesome smokehouse cheddar burger...man that was awesome.
Must be some local Colorado chain..

Oh, and since BK's chicken burgers are ovals, not circles, are they still burgers? :)
ABF, what about the BK Broiler / AKA Chicken whopper...? Those are circular...grilled...mmm...on par with the McChicken.
True... but that other one is an oval.
