It's not a Colorado-only chain. It's just not as big as Taco Bell. Much better, though.
A common joke in my town is mc donalds is a poor man soup kitchen. Were anything goes as long as it is edible.
while i tend to avoid mcdonalds myself, sometimes i just get cravings for their burgers...and they're a step up from white castle, which while delicious, practically kills you after eating it.

taco bell i simply do not like because they got rid of the Santa Fe chalupa, which to me was fast food heaven. and nothing else on their menu since, has been good enough to warrent the sick feeling eating there leaves. although i haven't tried the cheesy crunch thing...
Turkey, if it's cooked upside down. Then you have all the juices making the white meat tasty and moist instead of tasting like the sole of a shoe. :)

It doesn't look as pretty (when it comes time to carve) but it sure tastes fantastic when cooked upside down.
Well I doubt I've ever seen a 'Taco John's'...

And all fast food places regularly get rid of those special menu items... too bad, some are good...
but they didn't get rid of any of the other chalupa's ABF...and they still have the ingrediants to put the chalupa together (minus the black bean salso, possibly)...they just discontinued it.

stupid taco bell.
I miss the taco bell dog.:(

AMEN BROTHER---I always got that, ALWAYS...it was the Santa Fe and that alone. I'd always get two of them...oh god they were so good...then one day they discontinued them for no reason. They were by far the best, and everyone always got them...yet they kept the other two designs instead. Talk about corporate stupidity; these bastards rival Nintendo.

went to Taco Bell...tried the new cheesy crunch taco thing, where they wrap a hard taco in a gordita flatbread w/ cheese. Was good.

They had those before, I love those things. We just got 'em back in my town too, I've had a few already.

...

Now I'm hungry.
Yea that thing was good; but really it's just a booster for a regular taco. The best thing they've ever had was that santa fe gordita...man oh man did I love that. Actually, I recall years and years ago, like 1996 they had something else too that was even better...a limited time thing...but all I remember about it was that the commercial had cowboys fighting. Does that sound familiar to ANYONE!?
There was not a single taco bell in mexico from what I saw, infact I never saw any taco joints either.
Tacos aren't really Mexican. Saying tacos come from Mexico is like saying Henry Ford invented the car: it's easy to see how someone can make the misconception, but they're wrong.
...SOO where DID it come from?

I think it was made in the US and passed as a Mexican delicacy. I'm not 100% sure about all of this, but when I have time, I'll research more into it.

I at least know that the kind of tacos they have at Taco Bell and other Mexican derived American restaurants are Americanized and aren't really Mexican, but I'm sure we all knew that.
maybe its a mixed mexican/ american invention.

some of your states once belonged to mexico so maybe from there they started experimenting with different american and mexican foods untill they got the Taco we all know and love.
Quote:Although the term taco comes from a Spanish word meaning “light snack”, the taco itself had its origins in pre-Hispanic times, when the Aztecs and other groups in their empire, using corn tortillas much as Europeans used bread, rolled the tortillas or broke them into pieces to scoop up food. The food being scooped was, of course, different in each region and the street taco as we know it today evolved from the rural areas of Mexico.

So, in a way, the taco did and didn't originate in Mexico. It originated in what is now Mexico, but it wasn't Mexico at the time. One thing's for sure though: it wasn't a US creation.
Same thing goes for lots of Chinese food here in the states. Fortune cookies are 100% American. And actually, almost all Chinese food found in the U.S. isn't very smiliar to the stuff found in China. It's actually Chinese-American food.

Ditto to that.
I can't stand those dogs.
Most chihuahuas are loud, arrogant, and all around annoying, but somehow, mine came out differently. She's as loyal as a golden retriever.
Chihuahuas are stupid.

Then again, I hate dogs... a friend of mine has a chihuahua and (just like any other dogs) I don't let it get anywhere near me...
You hate dogs, you hate doing physical activities, and you despise sunlight. You're a damned vampire-robot!
I may hate/be scared of dogs, but I do like cats...
Cats and dogs both kick ass. But you know what sucks...? Ferrets.
Haha, you're afraid of dogs, ABF? Chuckle
Yes.

We have two cats at home though and I like them... :)
Hehehe, even little dogs?
I get very nervous when any dogs get near me... and dont let them get close...
Hey, leave him alone---he's only Canadian.:)
I never understand fearing dogs. Fearing dogs that are foaming at the mouth and dashing toward you, or that have been infected with the T-Virus, yeah, they're scary. Under any other circumstances, though, I can't see a sensible reason for being afraid of the little guys.

We turned this topic from food to pets. Classic TendoCity.
I used to be terrified of dogs up until I was around ten years old, which was when we moved to Croatia. There were so many damn (stray) dogs there that I just got used to it.
Large dogs could hurt a person, even if they aren't infected with some mind altering disease. Pitbulls for instance should ALL be killed without mercy, because that's how it happened to me! Am I not invisible?

Nah, I don't think specific breeds of dogs should be killed (some can be quite nice) unless they have such an attitude that they are beyond ever being trusted around people. I do see how someone could be afraid of dogs. It's just like fearing bugs or snakes. It's the potential harm that worries them. Don't try comforting them by saying they don't actively try to hurt you either, it doesn't help. They know they only attack when they feel threatened. The fear is that they might accidently make one of them scared enough to attack. They have no idea if that snake nearby is frightened or just lounging. That's the fear.
A common misconception among the general public is that pitbulls are inherently "evil". That's not true. The only pitbulls that are really mean and ferocious are the ones that are trained that way. My friend's uncle has around four pitbulls and they're all very well-mannered because their owner doesn't abuse them in order to make them attack dogs.

It's all about the upbringing.
I know its silly to be afraid of chihuahuas... but I am... not as much really as big dogs, but I am... they are dogs. I can't let any of them near me... irrational? Oh well.
Hey I know how you feel. I was once as big of a 'fraidy-cat as you were. Back when I was nine.

:D
Maybe it's just the fact that I've always had a dog that makes me immune to fearing them.

Cats are too snooty, they hold grudges, and they're just...too high maintenance to be fun pets.
CATS high maintenance? Uhh... yeah, right! Compared to dogs? Are you crazy? Cats don't require walking. Cats don't require pooper-scoopers. I'd say that alone puts them in the 'much lower maintenance' category...
Don't require pooper scoopers? Yeah they do ABF. You do actually clean the litter box right? What exactly do YOU call that spatula thing used to clean it out?
Its a LOT easier to clean a litter box than it is to walk a dog, maybe several times a day, and in many places clean up after it... I wouldn't really put them in exactly the same category... :)
Dogs are more fun. You can play with them, run with them, and things like that. Cat's just eat, sleep, and... and sleep some more.
You pet them and they purr. If they don't leave, that is... sure they are't as friendly in some ways, but I don't consider that bad. :)
Yeah, but play what? Fetch? Oh great fun! I like cats with their much less physical (for me) activities. They chase things, and the great thing is, you don't have to actually get up to get something else to move all over hte place. Ah the fun of having a cat chase things, like laser lights. I love it when a cat thinks it's finally won, and snaps it's paw out, and then the light is on it's paw, so it starts biting at it's paw. Then, you really freak it out when you have it staring at the light spot, and then you just turn off the light. The cat stares some more for 2 seconds, then suddenly pulls it's head back like "waaah?" and then walks away, then it imagines something and DASHES in pouncing on, nothing. It's at that time you realize you finally broke the cat's mind.
You're a lazy bunch of bastards, aren't you.
You have a problem with that?
Oh yeah well you... um, ABF could ya finish this sentence for me?
I like to jog with my dog.
Sorry DJ, too lazy...

Chiwawas are not stupid. Though I sometimes wonder why one of the smallest breeds of dogs in existence also happens to be one of the most naturally agressive. I don't think my dog ever takes into consideration for a moment that I'm twenty times her size when she wrestles with me. She's fun as hell. Now if I could teach her to stop pissing in the hallway. Mad

Anyway, I'm glad this topic changed from food to pets, as I'd be a little afraid if a poultry debate garnered a hundred posts
Now I'm the last post king!

BTW my dog would rather let his bladder explode than pee in the house. He's a very good black lab.
