..but those aren't banannas...
And they aren't bananas, either! Haha
That actually wasn't in reply to any previous post, but was rather a stand-alone statement of fact.

Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana Banana
Uh, OB1, you repeated what I said, but 4 hours later... Confused
You misspelled "bananas".
Ah.
Nerner
"Only imperial stormtroopers are so precise."

Oh, the irony.
Well you know, they don't make clones like they used to. :stick:
No kidding. Those clones in Episode 2 were crazy-awesome.
As everyone knows, humans are better than droids... and clones are better than humans. Poor Empire... though it is a good question to ask why they banned cloning. Didn't want anyone to be able to do what they did? :)
The stormtroopers in the original trilogy are a mixture of real people and clones, I believe.
But the Empire banned Cloning very early... after the Clone Wars everyone agreed they were very dangerous and banned them. While the Empire may have some clones around, and some planets still use them in secret, and the Empire tried a few times to use clones (in various books...), it was hardly a program that had lasting success and contributed huge numbers of troops to the Empire. No, most are just benificiaries of the Imperial Stormtrooper Brainwashing Program...
Says who? Some EU book? They are not to be trusted as "facts" get changed with each new movie.
Oh come on the EU is good. Anything not directly definined in the movies is definied in the EU... and as long as the fact in question hasn't been contradicted in the movies its as close to canon as matters.

And in this case... I think that its not just EU...

Oh, and this wasn't just 'one book' or something. Its a major EU fact that had big implications in a lot of EU books... Zahn's trilogy, for instance, makes that fact central to the plot...
Most of the "facts" in the Zhan trilogy had to be changed because of AotC.
Yeah, if by "most of the facts" you mean "How long ago Zahn said the Clone Wars were"... because that's about it. And the thing about the Empire banning cloning wasn't one of them -- the movies never contradicted that, for sure... and a LOT of the books have stated that as a fact.
And the sparri cylinders? Eh? EH??!
Hey... I just said that the Empire makes the rules. Like all the Imperial laws, they are really only enforced on others, not on the Imperial military itsself... :)

Though I do think most all the Stormtroopers are brainwashed normal humans, not clones. I'm sure some are, but not most... I don't think the Empire could get away with it. Not with the post-Clone War reaction to clones among the peoples of the galaxy... they wouldn't have somewhere to make lots of them (and give them the years they need to grow) without people knowing easily, I think... I'm sure they could do it but when you control the galaxy like they did its easier to recruit... until the discovery of the Ysalamiri that is, and they only allow for limited super-accelerated cloning -- ie limited to that one facility...
Where does it say that the Empire put a ban on clones?
Why are you calling DJ "she"?? Confused
.... you'd know if you visited here on a regular basis.

:p

But anyhow, yes DJ is a girl. Or was formally a man and turned into a woman because Mapel left, which forced DJ to return balance to the Forum.

Or something.
I'm sure the Empire still used some clones after the Clone Wars... but not openly. The peoples of the universe just had too much dislike for clones to accept it at that point... various books say that. I'm pretty sure they were banned (at least officially), not sure when... haven't read those books in quite some time... :)
If they're pre-AotC books then it doesn't matter.
Oh come on, that's absurd! Sure AotC fills in detail, and changes the date of the Clone Wars again, but I don't see how it changes anything other than the date...
LOTS of EU stuff had to be changed after AotC came out.
Some, sure, but not nearly as much as you seem to suggest! Just the stories about Boba Fett's past and the dates for the Clone Wars...
Oh much more had to be altered.
Well if you think so much must be changed how about telling us what all these things are?
The whole Jorus C'Baoth thing, the whole Sparri Cylinder thing, almost all of the dates pre-ANH, the entire Dark Empire comic series, just about everything you learned about Boba Fett in the books and comics (including what he looks like), and uh... well I'd have to do some more research to find the rest. But there's plenty more!
I don't see anything wrong with the cloning cylinders or C'Baoth... but as for Fett, yes, I admitted that the story in Tales of the Bounty Hunters (I think it was there...) which explained where Fett came from was incorrect. That doesn't change the stories of Fett in classic-trilogy times or later though...
The cylinders were supposed to be the things that created the clones, which was obviously proven wrong in AotC.
Umm, no.

Read the EU page for that one. It exlplains Spaarti cloning.

Joruus C'Baoth, clone of Jorus C'Baoth.
Yes, they had to alter some elements of the Thrawn trilogy plot. Back then the spaarti cylinders were thought to be the devices that made the clones in the Clone Wars, but then AotC came out and they had to change that.
Ah... 'alter some elements'. You sound much more reasonable now... :) I said they had to alter some minor stuff... I know that. But those minor things do not detract at all from that series and only change very small details, not anything that would actually impact the plot (or the counting of that plot as EU canon)...
I've been saying "change" this entire time. Change and alter. They had to change more than just the small stuff, but it escapes my mind at the moment.
Minor details, yeah... but nothing remotely approaching the 'it throws the whole EU into question'-ness that you seemed to suggest earlier... the only thing I can think of (plausible thing) that would do THAT is if Luke learned who his mother is in ROTJ. Since 'who was my mother' is a major sideplot in a lot of the books.

Since 'who was my mother' is a major sideplot in a lot of the books. Of course he never learns who it was... at least not yet...
Oh it comepletely throws many EU elements out of whack and you wouldn't believe how hard it's been for the writers to fix certain things.
Ooh, broad generalizations that will surely convince me!
Go to theforce.net if you want details.
Where? That's a HUGE site...
See what I mean? I wish I had bookmarked that page...
Yeah...
It's amazing that people bought the game after watching something like that.
I'm SO glad I managed to miss those commercials back then. MAAARIO WHERE AAAARE YOOOOUUU?!

I mean, so so stupid. I saw some, but it would seem the worst were mercifully not aired very often. Still... as my aunt would say... IT MUST BE CLEANSED IN HOLY FIRE! (Seriously, she scared me, lighting walls on fire with hair spray to spell out her name, that's not right...)
Yeah, we're lucky that Nintendo didn't really have any competition...
So, um, it's official.

Zelda 1, 2, 5, and 6 all packed together. Right now they are just saying it will be bundled with a GameCube, but I think we'll see other ways to get it as well. And if neccessary one of those ways will be brekaing into NOA just like Starmen.net always planned.
Nintendorks around the globe stopped using numbers back when the two oracle games were released, because not only is it hard to decide if Capcom's games count, if they did it would be hard to say which one was which number and if they should count as two seperate numbers or just one. Since then, it kinda dropped out of use, so forgive me as I count up using that outdated numbering system (1 and 2 however are still called 1 and 2 :D).

Okay, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, gotcha. Hope they give us Americans a 3rd save slot, though to be honest I think I'll just have people start new games on my old N64 version (which I WILL keep because it's gold and all holography). However, this does leave me wondering if I'm special any more, since now I'll have obtained Ocarina of Time 3 times over, twice for the same system. Oh well, the first two times were free for me.
