I was going to start up another storyline in my comic series but recent computer malfunctions have prevented my from making any more. But barring forgetfullness and futher computer related difficulties I should have the first one by next week.
Alright, I finally got my computer fixed so what do you think the first thing I did was was? Right! I made a new comic! That's very nice of me don't you think?

A monolith eh? Like on Easter Island? I heard of that movie (and heard it quoted SO often on TV I FEEL like I've seen it) but never saw it. The only thing I know about it is there's an evil robot that tries to kill everyone... IN SPACE. You see, I can "not know" it because I NEVER SAW it. It's not like school requires people to watch certain movies or something to pass. Why WOULD I have watched it? If you're going to say "because it was AWESOME", then I must say I have NEVER understood the logic of such an argument. It may have been awesome, but I'd have to have SEEN it to know that! The movie was before my time, and no one ever forced me to watch it. Heard a couple referenses to it on TV, but that's it. How can I be expected to have seen it? How can I be considered in ANY negative light for not having willingly saught it out?
Oh, and no this discussion is NOT going to make me want to see it :D. I just don't need it to make my life complete. Yeesh, if I saught out EVERY piece of entertainment everyone said I just HAVE to see, I wouldn't have time to actually do something with my life.
ONE MORE thing, that's a very bland looking monolith thingy. It's just a flat black slab... Why not make it look like an Easter Island head, or a stone from stone hedge, or something like a big silver block with lots of circuits all over it leading to a big red eye in the center?

It's one of the most important classics in Sci-Fi... we even have a copy of the tape somewhere... but I've never got around to it... I heard it's boring a lot, but really should see it...
And DJ you DO know that HAL is the computer from 2001, right? And the 2001 theme is very well known and widely used...
It's only one the GREATEST Sci-fi movies in existance combining the talents of Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke. Anyone who says they are a fan of Sci-fi and haven't seen 2001 are living a LIE and should be burned for their insolence!!

It's a slow movie, unlike Star Wars and Star Trek, which are action oriented, it's slow and deliberate and takes a realistic look at the future and the universe...and it has some really weird stuff in it, especially the parts with the monolith. A very awesome movie.

If you saw the movie you would understand it better, but basically it's purpose it to cause us to evolve but we didn't even notice it was there and just threw it out with the trash.

Okay, you didn't read that part. Look, you can't say "You SHOULD have seen it by now BECAUSE it was so awesome" because for me to KNOW it was awesome I would have had to SEE it to begin with! If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have known it was awesome enough that I just had to have seen it by now. That's why it's flawed! Rather, you can only say I should GO see it, as in tell me TO see it, because it is so awesome. THEN I know due to word of mouth (though I always got the impression that the movie was some huge space cliche about killer robots). Saying I should have seen it before due to information I didn't even HAVE is flawed. Why would I just KNOW that?

Just go see it, okay? It's is, IN MY OPINION, a very good movie and IT IS MY OPINION that if you watched it you would think so too and you would, IN MY OPINION, be a better person for having seen it. But all of this is just MY OPINION, so...
