Yeah, Activision has been really good about allowing fangames and such based on their older properties. I very much hope that those policies continue under Microsoft. In particular MS better not mess with Netstorm in its current state, I still love that game so much...
As for Blizzard, the scandals are horrible, but I still love Blizzard's games and couldn't stop playing their games. I still play their games regularly, most commonly Diablo II Resurrected, Starcraft Remaster, and Overwatch. Well, some of their games, I have no interest in World of Warcraft after all (which is why hearing how a lot of the worst problems come from the WoW team makes me feel, like... well, WoW never was that great anyway... I certainly never had much interest in playing it.). Do I love Blizzard's new games though? Good question, what even ARE their new games? They barely have any. We'll see what Diablo 4 turns out to be, and Overwatch 2 will probably be good -- I do still like the first Overwatch a lot -- but who knows how new it'll really be. Obviously Blizzard isn't the company they used to be, but their library is still one of the best in the industry. I would still pick them as my favorite PC game developer.

Quote: Hey, remember when Tendo City was an officially promoted fan site on Nintendo's main web site? Remember how they actually engaged with fans back then?Nintendo has got to be among the worst in the industry for fan connections, yeah. They have the most devoted fans but mostly ignore them and do their own thing. Sometimes this hurts the games; look at Mario Maker 2 for example, that could have done so much better with better handling not of the game itself but everything outside of it...
