Gah, how does this time thing work?  It goes by so fast... but yes, the N64, the best console ever, is already 25 years old, in Japan at least.  Its American 25th anniversary will be in September.  It launched in Japan with only Mario 64 and a Shogi game.  But hey, with Mario 64 what else do you need...

The N64 was better than some give it credit for.  I'm wary of a birthday celebration for a particular chunk of silicon, since it seems like this is aimed at triggering our nostalgia glands more than anything, but yeah Mario 64 was good.  So good I got a copy of the game before I could even find an N64.

I got an N64 only because I was a Rumbler of the Month winner and I needed to play the copy of Ocarina I'd acquired.

Now that's some nostalgia!  I still have my copy of Kirby 64 I won in one of those monthly contests.  It's amazing the raw effort our members went through to keep this place alive, culminating in etoven's commitment to keep the lights on to this day.

Oh and Kirby 64 is a pretty fun game too.
