Star Wars just isn't vast enough to support a franchise the size Disney is aiming for. Never mind the books, totally different medium. Star Wars had it's run, we can still enjoy those old movies, it was never really meant to just keep going on and on forever.
I would say my interest in Marvel is about half dead after the last movie. Once I see part two, I'm done.

How about they make original movies, like the ones they are making now, and that's it? Why do businesses always have to grow all the time? You know what else puts growth above everything else? Cancer, and it's just as sustainable.

What, you are challenging the principle of infinite growth, the foundational principle of capitalism?
I mostly agree though, the idea that companies must always keep growing for investors to care isn't really a good thing. Growth can be helpful, but it also can be harmful, and if some company's doing great as it is why must they be forced to try to grow just because otherwise investors will turn on them? Capitalism has issues... it's still probably better than the alternatives, but it has real problems.
lesse fair capitalism is corrupt as it stands. Regulated capitalism is better. Communism also has problems, probably bigger problems. A well regulated capitalism, with an enforced notion that unchecked greed is in fact a BAD thing and rewards for benevolent behavior would probably split the difference. There are also probably a few places where the market is not the best thing to leave in charge, such as medical research.
