Have I got much this month? Not really, but there are a few things I should mention.
Wii U - DD
--
Seasonal Assistant - $4. This is a new release from Ultra Dolphin Revolution, a team which has made a bunch of mostlyh good NES-style digital Wii U games. It's too bad they aren't also on Switch, but this third game in the Assistant series is about as good as the first two. It's a fun, though simple, topdown action game.
Additionaly, I ordered a few things for delivery. Two are here so far.
So to save myself from the horrible first world problem of having to switch from one set of cables in my retrotink to another to go between my s-video or below systems to my component video systems, I... got another retrotink. I got the cheaper one this time though, the composite/s-video-only one for "only" $89 shipped. So, s-video or below on that one, component on the one I got last year. (As I have for a while I was thinking of getting an OSSC, but even with the much higher price, at this point waiting for the OSSC Pro probably makes more sense in that respect.). This arrived today and I set it up and it works so that's great. Finally, once again I can play everything on my HDTV without having to switch cables, like it used to be before I started the 'let's upgrade some systems to RGB' thing!
Also, I ordered an adapter for the Jaguar that allows you to use SNES A/V cables on it and it arrived a few days ago. These are a fairly recent release and are welcome to see. I got it to be able to use RGB on the Jag -- it has RGB, but natively only via SCART and I don't have a scart setup. So, this adapter plus my snes HD Retrovision cable gets me there. For now I'll probably just switch cords between the two systems depending on which one I'm using, they are next to eachother now (I moved a few systems around late last year and did that). It's awesome that Jag to SNES adapters are finally cheap ($31 shipped) and easy to buy (from a site called Helder Game Tech), I've been wanting an RGB solution for this thing for a while but the only other adapters were some a guy made in VERY limited quantities, and otherwise it's "use RGB or SCART" and getting THAT setup would not be worth it for my current setup.
Tempest 2000 looks absolutely incredible in rgb. For other games though, it looks insanely sharp but many show off the issues of using rgb for games developed on rf or composite -- every pixel standing out so sharply sometimes looks like a mess sometimes in games with 2d pixel art and such.
T2K though... wow. The sharpness makes that game look even more amazing.[dir=ltr] [/dir]
