... Not sure why I said Samsung, I meant Seagate. They're the one that made that drive I have that died last year. The external drive I have connected to my X360 is a Seagate and it's fine, but yeah, that was not good.
As for my PC, I've got a 500GB M.2 SSD for the Windows drive. I need another large hard drive for it, but haven't gotten it yet; I should be upgrading my PC soon though, to get the things I didn't get when I built it earlier this year (ie a new video card, new power supply, and large hard drive). The other drives in it are the drives from my old computer -- two Hitachi 300GB drives that were the drives that came with my old computer when I got it in '07 (and, yes, still work just fine despite one being my boot drive for a decade!), a Seagate 2TB that is fine, and a 4TB external from WD. Oh, and the 500GB Seagate drive that doesn't work since it failed last year, I think it was. (It's a drive that Windows completely stopped recognizing and probably is bad, but I did manage to get data off some of its partitions in Linux, so that was weird...) Yes, I definitely need more hard drive space, it's getting closer to full...
But anyway, that link there points out that HGST is owned by WD now. Are they still making different hard drives from Western Digital, though? Because yeah, those two Hitachi drives I have have been very reliable despite being used a lot for a long time now, so that does make me interested in more drives from them.
